have the selucids support carthage all you want, its not like it would eve rmake a difference; the local peoples hated them (little known fact; it was with unofficial Roman aide that the Judeans successfully rebelled from the Selucids, one of the reasons it was such an easy transition for Judea to becoem a client state of Rome) the Selucids were weak, compartivlly poor, hated, and ALWAYS under local threat by either the Judeans, Egyptians, soemone in Anatolia, and always, always, always the Parthians.
