What's your Field of expertise?

Neuroscience, genetics, civ.

Modern History, heck Euro-centric History in general, Sports (especially stats), Math, and Geography.

Professional : Engineer, now retired. I've designed a wide variety of things including steel-framed buildings, printed circuits, cranes, conveyors, electromagnets and their control systems, laboratory furniture, fume cupboards and their extraction systems, and supervised the installation and commissioning of many of the foregoing in various parts of the world. And I've written a few computer programs. What kind of engineer was I ? Your help would oblige !
Private: Reading, mostly sci-fi; playing TBS games (can't handle the real-time ones); pipe smoking; remembering the past; looking up at the weeds in the garden. Being a rather sad, pernickety old git with a warped sense of humour.

Professional: Still working on that! Electrical engineering.

Other things I wouldn't call myself an expert in, but know pretty well/enjoy: bits of assorted languages, Russian Revolution, French Revolution, music (radio-type and concert), visualization, light programming, computer stuff, satire.

Congrats Che! That's something you started on our soil? ;)

Thanks

did you mean norweigen soil or CFC e-soil...? ;)

I did get my taste for it there...! But techinically I started this one in Halifax...or Truro, NS, more specifically...

Now that I'm done I think I'd like to come back as visit though...but maybe that's for another thread...

For me i would say troubleshooting and fixing computers, world history, and video games.
O RLY! :dubious:
you troubleshoot and fix computers, history and videogames...

Professional: FEA, CFD, Engineering Research - in the field of automotive and aviation components.
Personal: Nothing that would qualify as a field of expertise, at least nothing I would admit to, of course. Pretty knowledgable, yes. Expertise, no.

Cricket and the LBC radio station, thats about it really. Someday I'll become good at something useful maybe.

Edit ! Since some point out board games : my expertise is on the game Diplomacy ;)

Diplomacy! Now there's a game of kings. I loved Russian Campaign too, despite its bias against the Germans. Gettysburg is another good game, although again there's a bit of bias.

My expertise is in hypertension, 'metabolic syndrome' (being fat) in general and integrative physiology. I know a fair amount about philosophy and the English language.
Anything else is just snippets of information. I've forgotten so much of my maths and physics that its shameful. I can't even remember the difference between MANOVA and ANOVA, although I can find out.
