'Testing' as done in schools and such are not telltale of Intelligence, as IQ tests are not telltale either. Some of the greatest minds in history were scholarly failures. I don't think it is something that can truly be tested and measured. An intangible if you will. Situations can bring it forth and others may recognize it in you and mention it, but a test? Naw...

I have never taken a non-Internet IQ test, however, Internet IQ tests have placed me in the 130's and so except for the scab on my chin on my photo in Member Photos, I have beauty.

I made a pretty good score on the professional one I took. I score lower then some of my dumb friends on web-based tests, so I dont really trust them.

@those who are commenting on the average score: Remember that the people who score poorly will probably be too embarrassed to vote.

But that still doesn't explain it. That Internet test that several of us have taken was EXTREMELY easy; anyone who gets an "average" on it I would consider an idiot. I imagine they looked at an IQ test, and took the easy questions, so that all the takers of the test can feel good about themselves and be more inclined to buy the analysis.

Same here (on both parts).

I bet if you pay $10 they'll send you a note saying, "Our analysis of your intelligence is that since you naively paid us ten dollars, your IQ has dropped 35 points from your test score."

I am a slow plodding thinker, so I'll do pretty bad on any timed IQ test (This also means that single game at diety by space race takes over 20 hours, without any wars). This meant that I didn't do very well by only answering the first half of the questions in approximatly 10 minutes (give or take 5, wasn't counting). OTOH, if I had a half hour or so I'd probably get a near perfect score.

Then, I decided to do it all over again, only giving myself 30 seconds. Howver this time I didn't bother o read the qeustions is simply marked them all false. My score was 99.
I decided to try again, with all true - my score jumped to 118!

Funny, the world average is about 105 (or close to it) and the majority claim 130+

A lot of IQ-Inflators, here.

Even so, my last score (6 mos. ago) was 135. It has gravitated between 128-135 for the past 5 years. One score I had, which was a bogus exam, scored me 142. I would never count that one, though, cause it was multiple choice.

I have an IQ of 126. I don't think that's that bad for a 15 year old girl. The test I took said I had strong spatial and analytical skills. Hence the reason why I love Civ III...

I coincidentally did two IQ tests this afternoon. One said I'm between 120 and 130, the other between 110 and 120. So I guess it's around 120. (If the tests were accurate.)

I'm not trying to plug a website or anything, but if you go to emode.com, you can get an IQ test for free. They have more detailed results you can pay for, but who has the scratch for that?

Ok, I'll take the test at emode. If I dont post here again its because my IQ is now significantly lower than it was at 13

I once took a test on TV and the outcome was that I had an IQ of 139... However, I do not trust IQ tests at all, and certainly not this one, it was very unprofessional.

Those internet tests are definitely not giving you true results. However it surprises me, that those three I took (2 the last time this thread came up, and 1 this time) gave me quite similar results. It is nice to have one's ego boosted by getting a good result on such a test. But they don't say anything about the person.

A lot of people must have lied in the poll above, though the obsession with civ some display shows that most of you are on the border to madness (which explains your "genius" IQ).

In fact it's quite close.
"genius" is considered to start between 140 and 150.

You know something is wrong when you commonly see people with IQ supposedly at 130-135.

100 is AVERAGE for God's sake !
