CivFanatics have members from all around the world with the majority coming from 'Western' nations, however there does seem to be very few from Japan.

Which I find strange given that Japan is a large modern, affluent and technologically advanced society that (from my experience) has many people who can speak some English.

So where are they?

Edit:

Before some smart a*se answers, "still in Japan"! I'll rephrase the question why aren't there more Japanese posting at CivFanatics?

i think the students goodbye_mr_bond had was relative old. maybe they get their english courses in a late stage.

and don´t forget that "all your base are belong to us" is from japan.

Mr Bond was teaching 15yr old girls from memory. I wonder whether he used Civ2 as a teaching aid?

Mr Bond might have an explanation for the relative scarcity of Japanese posters here.

Don't they have a work ethic? ;)

If you can read Japanese, Stack Style is a must see:

http://www.stack-style.org/SidGame/

It is a very comprehensive Civ3 site. :) They even have an Info Digest comparable to our Info Center.

I can't read Japanese but I had a look anyway, thanks TF. I agree it does look comprehensive, but it still doesn't explain why we seem to have very few posters from Japan.

After all non-English-speakers such as the Swedes, Dutch and Spanish have a significant presence in these forums despite the fact that Civ sites exist in their languages (ok, I'm guessing about Swedes and Dutch but I know the Spanish have a site attached to Poly).

Hmmm, I wonder whether any Japanese lurkers would care to comment? :)

Ya know I think its funny how every now and then you find an english word in there

and Palehorse I hate to make you even more upset but there is a link page on civ fanatics  and they all go to "other civ sites"

Odd how we seem to get members in either large numbers or small trickles most of the time. (Still haven't found a Palestine Civ-fanatic!)
