Where'd the 3.13 change list thread go?

Hey, a quick question about the patch, did Alexman delete the change log because it is no longer valid and some things have been changed? That patch log was AWESOME and it made for some of my best bed time reading for the last few nights!! PLEASE if anything dont remove Solvers events from the official additions, they looked soooo cool!

He deleted it because Firaxis has a bad, bad joke of a customer relations department. His subsequent comments revealed that it was mainly done out of spite and childish pouting.

Im cool with people being frustrated. Im cool with people having various opinions, even if I disagree with them. But, Duuk why would you just make things up? There were no subsequent comments made by Alex that I am aware of.

I binned it for two reasons: it was getting ugly, and because the initial point of the thread (the 3.13 changelog) was deleted by Alexman.

Folks have made good points here that there's still useful reference material in that thread, so momentarily I'll retrieve it from the bin but unsticky it.

(And there was no request from Firaxis, and no desire to 'protect' Firaxis, it just seemed like the right thing to do at the time.)

Flaming is a problem (I didn't follow it much, was it that bad?). If it was indeed that bad, it's a good thing it was deleted.

However, talking about Firaxis and 2K's marketing and customer services strategies shouldn't be forbidden nor taboo.

Let's all hope the patch comes out this week.

He gave us it. He is no boss there. He doesen't represent the whole Firaxis there,. He is of no marketing field. He is just a programmer that was always around CFC even before being CIV's programmer. Now, he came here and in a act of good will to give us a freaking change log, that almost sure as hell was not going to come for us in any other way until the patch itself, and then he says quite clearly that they couldn't release it yet. Now, he said they were done with the patch. OK, he meant something different than that. He meant that they were done besides the bug(s) found while in QA. So they were done with the main principles but just needed to fix bugs. He could have fixed it, but now, people come and deliberately put words in his mouth!! I never saw it, it was surely a case of group hysteria. How the heck did people get the impression that he promised that the patch would come next week!?!?!!?!?!???!

He is NO marketing pro, HELLOOO!~ If he was not that good with communication, how the heck can you put the blame on him??? It was NOTHING official from Firaxis, Jesus! After around 1 week(10 days?) he posted on the other forum a small update, and people came in full charge on him for that. Hah, I can understand why he didn't post here, oh, sure as hell I can!

Why the heck do you think it is unprofessional that he did delete the change log and, literally, said "Bye, go to ..."???? It was not like it was something from Firaxis itself! It was HIS personal post and he could do whatever he wanted with it!

Heck, how the can't you understand why he did get upset, pissed, mad and all the other sht????? HE WAS TRYING TO HELP AND HE GOT LITERALLY HANGED, HE IS NO DAMN PROFESSIONAL ON MARKETING!! WANNA BLAME SOMEONE??? BLAME FIRAXIS/TAKE2 FOR !@@##$%$^$^% SAKE!!!!!!!!!!

The flaming war was caused by certain posters who couldn't accpet that posting a changelist and making no update on why the patch hasn't been released (especially when the patch is said to be done and could've already been released before the post was made) was a poor decision by Firaxis/alexman.

He did what he thought was best at the time for himself. THAT is my whole point. Nothing to do with Firaxis, NOTHING. He was just probably a bit pissed with the people putting word on his mouth. He is no marketing specialist and surely as hell didn't predict it would only get worse.

I think it is a good sign they are holding back the patch. It must have had issues. It is awesome when devs try to reveal info to customers, but sometimes it backfires when features aren't testing clean and aare pulled or someone higher up decides a new feature should be int he patch and it is delayed. Give them a break, convert to Taoism and meditate for a while.
