Which ones do you expect to see or want to see? Personally I expect

1. Egypt
2. Greece
3. Rome
4. Arabia
5. Russia
6. Persia
7. India
8. China
9. USA
10. England
11. France
12. Germany
13. Spain
14. Zulu
15. Mongolia
16. Japan
17. Aztecs
18. Inca

Actually, all of the civ4 starting civs except trade Mali for Zululand, simply because Shaka appears as the sub-saharan African civ more often and I think he's simply got more historical appeal than Mansa Musa does.

With 18 civs to use, these seem like the most sensible.

Civs I really want to be in the vanilla version, and would be upset if they were not:
Rome
Egypt
India (gotta love the Gandhi jokes).
China
America
a Meso-American civ (preferably Aztecs)
Russia

Civs I really want to be in the Vanilla version:
Israel/Hebrews
Arabs
Zulu
Mongols
a North American native culture
Japan

Civs I suspect will be in for sure:
Rome
Greece
Egypt
India
China
America
a Meso-American civ (preferably Aztecs)
Russia
France
England
Germany
Japan
Zulu
Babylon

Civs I suspect won't be in the vanilla version (though they might be in an expansion):
Ethiopia
Carthage
Khmer
Spain
1-2 more Meso-American civilizations
1 Mesopotamian civilizations
Turkey/Ottomans
Vikings

Civs I suspect are not likely to be represented, but have some chance:
Poland
Dutch (gut instinct on this one)
Assyrians
Hittites

These civs will definitely be there:

* America
* Aztecs
* China
* Egypt
* England
* France
* Germany
* Greece
* India
* Japan
* Rome (probably with a leader alive in the second half of the 1st century bc)
* Russia

Probably Persia (in the predictable Achaemenid form) will be there too. You wouldn't think the Arabs would be omitted, but I wouldn't put it past them to do that.

I'd say the others are open. The developers will probably keep some popular civs/characters back for the xps.

i hope Australia but dont think will make it sadly

1.America
2.Germany
3.Russia
4.England
5.France
6.Persia
7.Japan
8.China
9.India
10.Egypt
11.Rome
12.Greece
13.Aztecs
14.Spain
15.Zulu
16.Ethopia
17.Vietnam as random civ since its culture has been around for hundreds of years
18.Mongolia

I'd like to see maybe 30 civs instead of 18,but thats what expensions are for.

In any future expansion I'd like to see more civs from Asia and Europe.

Hi to all! ~.~ we are all hunting for intel? ^.^
BTW where did you see the number of civ's?

From the photos we have:

1 - America - George Washington
2 - Germany - Bismark

The others sixteenth we do not know YET! But we will be scanning :scan: for all tips.

Here's my remain 16th:

3 - China
4 - India
5 - France
6 - England
7 - Rome
8 - Egypt
9 - Japan
10 - Persia
11 - Arabia
12 - Russia
13 - Aztecs
14 - Mongolia
15 - Greece

This will there for sure:

16 - Spain

AND OF COURSE:

17 - PORTUGAL

And the wild card:

18 - South Africa

I'm hoping for a Hebrew civilisation.

A bunch of bronze age religious fanatics that don't like anybody, and have a god that goosesteps, have got to be fun to play.

Plus the ineviable Life of Brian mod will be hilarious.

Edit: I hope Samuel L. Jackson is one of the American Leaderheads. Seriously that would be so ************** cool. They could have him voice his own lines. Awesome.

We have
1) Americans
2) Germans
3) Aztecs

We will probably get
4) Russians
5) English
6) French
7) Greek
8) Chinese
9) Indians
10) Romans
11) Egyptians
12) Persians

6 left

I guess
13) Spanish
14) Zulu
15) Inca
16) Arabians
17) Mongolians
18) Something new - Mali was new in civ4, why not something new in civ5

Portugal, Dutch, Vikings, Koreans, Carthaginians, Sumerians, Babylonians and Ottomans will probably be expansion ones.

Which ones do you expect to see or want to see? Personally I expect

14. Zulu

Actually, all of the civ4 starting civs except trade Mali for Zululand, simply because Shaka appears as the sub-saharan African civ more often and I think he's simply got more historical appeal than Mansa Musa does.

It seems that you waited 3 years for Shaka and The Zulus :lol::lol::lol:

Eric, I think you wandered off a bit.. also :

I expect a Polynesian civ which can grow on little far islands thanks to seafaring characteristics and which be met later in the game, after discovery of galleons, for example...

O.O

whoa! is that list only off by 2? the Iroquois and the Ottomans, taking off the Zulu and the Inca (which have been eventually added)......that's pretty good!

If by "that list", you mean the OP, he's actually off by 4.
No Spain, The Ottomans instead.
No Inca, The Iroquois instead.
No Mongolia, Siam instead.
No Zulu, Songhai instead.

Not that guessing the first 18 civilizations in the game is terribly complicated - they tend to always have the same set... :p

Dazmit, how could I forget Siam and Songhai........
