So far what they have said regarding military

Purity=big guns and gets levitating tanks/battleships

Harmony=fast, tough, bonuses from native environment

Supremacy=specialized units that work well in groups

Hmm...
I'd have to go with both harmony and supremacy, if I can mix them. I want the Zerg with cyborg parts!

Far as I can tell, you can mix affinities since your research path, quests, and probably other mechanics we don't know about yet will pull you in one way or another, so you'll almost never end up purely down one affinity route. However I doubt you can mix and match individual units, since from how it sounds you have basic non-affinitied units, and then some affinities will have versions of those units that are specific to said affinity, and also units that aren't based on basic units and purely in the domain of said affinity. If that makes sense.

So probably zerlings and zealots. Almost definitely not zerglots.

Tanks have humans in them, and they are pretty tough.

That's true but robots are basically walking tanks. Also, computer intelligence is vastly quicker than human intelligence assuming robot is able to free-think.

Except supremacy units arent walking tanks because they Don't have a human inside them... They are disposable (so they can be lethal...because you don't have protect them)

Supremacy units will have better tactics/reaction, so they don't get better armor.
Purity units are going for massive unstoppable force. (since they don't have to have an expensive AI in it)

It won't be expensive by then it will be common. If it's a heavily armed cyborg against a heavily armed human, the human is quite screwed. I would play as humans though just for that challenge.

Harmony seems ideal when moving to a new world. But if we caused Mastadon's extinction, perhaps an affinity toward harmony is not ideal for landing on an unmapped alien planet?

Was Neil Armstrong harmonious, pure, or supreme (shrink) when he stepped on the moon? BE will ressurect him, before half of his term is up. "T minus 9..."

Except the best AI cyborgs won't be common.
Just like the best weapons and armor won't be common

Purity will get common ai (no cyborgs..human guidance needed) and super weapon/armor
Supremacy will get super ai cyborgs with common weapon/armor

Everyone seems to think of Purity as right-wing conservative bad-guys from James Cameron's Avatar.
The way I see it, earth and all of it's history will fade away and/or burn, what are we really saving by colonizing another planet if not the human genes?

Probably going to play all of them though :D

But it would be cool if there were special units if you picked two instead of just one affinity, for instance robotic worms if you had both Harmony and Supremacy, or cyborg tanks if Purity and Supremacy, or floating biological tanks for Purity and Harmony.

Purity, tampering with genetics is just wrong and forced mutilation should not happen.

Oh, and who doesn't like massive flying battleships?:yup:

I voted Supremacy because terminator, but have started to lean towards Purity, and not because I think they'll be the easiest (I have a feeling they may prove more challenging than others believe they'll be) but because flying ships.

I'll try Harmony. The other two seem more 'familiar' as regular sci-fi branches.
Analogy mostly through lack of understanding: Harmony = blue alien guys from Avatar. Purity = humans from Avatar. Supremacy = incoming Warhammer 40k Dark Age of Technology-ish.

I think I'll like the Purity best at least philosophically, but for the first game I might be playing Harmony for the first game just to fully dive in to exploring the strange alien world.

First game definitely Harmony to dive in to the alien world, although from what I've heard it sounds like I'll stick with Purity because I like its philosophy & floating battleships & tanks sounds AWESOME. Although I don't like anything I've heard about Supremacy, I'll try it out.

I have no idea why Purity exclusively gets flying battleships, anyone and their mother can dig up floating rocks.

Well harmony leaves nature as is and supremacy, well maybe it screws up their electronics that only they have and no other type.

Because Purity puts the research into making the rocks suitable for flying battleships instead of "wasting time" on wierd genetic engineering or digitizing the brain.
