Indian cuisine is good (mmm naan bread, mmm butter chicken), but isn't east asian

Ahh damnit, I saw the title of the thread as "Asian Cuisine" and didn't notice the OP's stipulations...:o

I generally like moderately-authentic Chinese food. I'm not a big fan of the cheap stuff you get as takeout or at a mall, and although I haven't tried it I don't think I'd like the super authentic stuff involving chicken feet, eyeballs, preserved eggs, and whatnot.

I've never tried Filipino food.

I used to really like Hibachi (but not sushi), but it hasn't been as good lately.

I was not a fan of the food when I went to an authentic Korean restaurant with people from my predominantly-Korean on campus church.

I like a lot of the food at a nearby asian fusion type restaurant, but I'm not really sure what kind of food to say it is. I think it is largely Thai, but with other influences and not necessarily very authentic. One of my favorite dishes there has "Japanese" in the name, but from what I've heard it is really closer to Thai. I like the curry there, although probably not quite as much as Indian curry. I've strongly disliked their Pho, but have never tried anyone else's.

Yeah "fast" Chinese food is wayyy too greasy for my usual tastes - but reallllllly good if you're drunk and/or hungover.

The semi-authentic stuff is the best.

Viet > Japanese > Chinese

I can't remember what it's called but there is some type of spicy cucumber salad that i tried from a japanese eatery at Annapolis mall thats awsome.

Chinese > Thai >Japan >Korea

I don't like Thai. I love Japanese food.

First sushi, then Thai, then Indian curry, then anything Chinese.

Japanese will only win because of the weeaboos on this board.

If it came down to actual quality and taste, Vietnamese and Thai would be in a draw.

Thai, easily. So much variety and such strong flavours! There were three amazing Thai restaurants near my old house. It was wonderful and I miss it.

Never tried anything Filipino to my knowledge, not a huge fan of Japanese food. Korean and Vietnamese are interesting, I don't think I've tried enough to judge but I've liked what I've had.

Chinese is such a variety of things it's hard to say (Szechwan? Shanghai? Taiwanese? Cantonese?), but there's always something good on the menu. Yum Cha is awesome!

Also: Indonesian (I assume it was Javanese) is ok, and Malaysian is basically like Thai food mixed with Chinese and Indian.

Problem with Japanese food is that so little of it is vegetarian....it's annoying cos the only meat they ever really eat is fish, and usually it's just hints of fish, like in udon (fish paste is an ingredient, no?). So it's like it's almost there which is annoying, just like they are with religion....

Anyway, Cambodian or Thai.
