I would like to see Nubia/Kush/Ta-Seti as a civ with Awawa as leader, medjay archers as UU and deffufa as UB.

What would be your dreamed civ, boys?

I would like to see Slavic People with their unique (barbarish) fighting warrior UU :) and Pagan Shrine UB (instead of a monument :) to put some fight against the early Rome ^^

Some Great Generals would be nice to have as leaders. For example, Oliver Cromwell, Gustavus Adolphus and Arminius. But the civs - I think that Swedish, Polish and Austrian empires would have been a nice addition to civ 4.

I believe that "Gustavus Adolphus II" is alredy in !!!! Yay ! ^^ I've got him once !! I've put him in charge of a MECH* !!! ..... when battlin' communists in Next War mod ^^ Those were the days let me tell You .... !! ^^

*MECH - Commonly known as Mechanizized Entity Created Holy !! It is a holy destroyer of every and all Frakin' Chineese Communism throughout the world of man !! It can nuke Your positions with tactical nukes "2" squares away and is capable of bringin much shizzz'le ! into the battlefield ! ... as well as boosting morale of a good guys while disrupting their commie bastard counterparts as well ! Hoooaaah Soldier !!! Honor! Duty! Samper-Fi! !!! xD Stay Strong ! :D

*See also entry on "Liberty Prime" ^^ (FO3)

Spoiler :

EDIT: Austrian Empire is a really noteworthy mention in the above post ! After all Austria was a huge world power in 19th century. Austria-Hungary Empire is know as to be "South Germans". Before the unification of Germany Nation (and all that silly little duches and kingdoms or whatever brought into one nation by Chancellor Otto Von Bismarck) You see. We could have distinguish South Germans and North Germans , after all They have all become Germans but Austrian Empire is something like Byzantium of Ancinet Rome. It was very strong, very powerfull and very influential on the scene of 18th and early 19th century Europe :) They were so strong they could have brought the French Empire to their knees (or the Russians) .... and tried to ;) Continued by Hitler but he failed.

What kind of UU would a "Goddess" be? And what kind of UB a Labyrinth?

Arminius didn't really have an empire. And Ancient Germans/Cheruscans would probably be quite similar to Gaelic warriors.
But one could have another "barbarian" civ, like goths or vandals...

Sweden/Gustavus, Austria/Maximilian would be nice additions. I think I have even seen Swedes in some Mod.
Gustavus Spir/Imp
UU Haakapeliitta (Finnish light cavalry) as modification of Cuirassier
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hakkapeliitta
UB maybe some modified harbor?

One could also modify Frederick as leader of Prussia (would be historically more accurate) with a Prussian Grenadier as UU and some baracks or whatever as UB

Yeah sure. And Mars (the RED planet) must be russian...

Olmec civilization pls...

granary UB with hammer bonus or jaguar pyramid (library or Colosseum replacement) that adds 1 scientist/artist/merchant specialist slot

a warrior UU with 3 strength or maybe a stronger spearman

----

Add more leaders to NA and the civ name changes into Navajo, Cherokee, Choctaw, Sioux, Chippewa, Apache, Blackfeet, Iroquois depending on the leader; or make this something of a NA mod scenario.

I find it odd that the whole Indian subcontinent has only one Civ despite multiple civilisations and thousands of years of settled history. Yet Europe has many (10?) Civs.
I guess that's to do which the sales demographic more than anything.

I agree with Pandamancer, multiple NA civs would be nice, instead of one with Sitting Bull. That's like, I dunno, having one civ represent Europe with Napolean as the only leader. Too generic. Just my thoughts...

This.
Personally I would like an Athenian Civilization and a Macedonian Civilization. Greece (which in game represents the conquests of Alexander and the Athenian Golden Age) and Macedonia are two separate cultures and entities which should not be lumped into one catch-all Greek Civ. As anyone who has researched Ancient Greece will know Sparta and Athens were definitely different in gov't style and so should not be in the same civilization.

Yes. The ancient Egyptians certainly did describe them as expert archers.

Or maybe the Nilotes? They live just to the south of the Nubians in modern day Uganda and Kenya. Archaeologists have found evidence of the oldest carbon steel in the world (1400 BC), and some of the finest until the Bessemer process. They figured out how to use the local termite nests to forge steel.

UB - Bye (Termite Hill in Luo, a Nilotic Language) A half price forge available with Iron Working.

Considering Judaism is an available religion, why not ancient Israel?
There have been a number of mods on Israel.

Here's my own take:
Leaders
David - CRE/CHA (He was a great musician. He inspired his troops to victory)
Solomon - PHI/IND (He wrote proverbs, and built the Temple of Solomon)
David Ben-Gurion - PRO/ORG (He defended Israel from attacks at all sides in 1948. He organized the founding of Israel as first prime minister)

Those are also the three unique trait combos, not used by any other leader.

UU - Gibborim (David's mighty men) - Axe Unit
UB - Mossad - A beefed-up Security Bureau

Thanks! I searched about it and I was quite surprised having never heard of those despite all my perusings about ancient kingdoms south of Egypt (land of Yam, Nubians, Axumites, land of Punt, etc.). Nonetheless, perhaps, the Nilotics were after all part of Nubians as an indistinguishable culture. Quite often, older cultures (especially organized into city-states) are less distinguishable from each others and is more of a spectrum than a neat cut culture. It's definitely not like USA with virtual borders all over the maps in the past. Still, thanks. I always like to know more about ancient Africa.

How about the civilization of Atlantis? But who would be the leader, what UU/UB?

Astronomy as starting tech and 1 Galleon instead of usuall warrior/scout would be pretty awesome start for Atlanteans ;) Well depending on the map of course ;)
