EDIT: Okay, so I forgot Taps, but that's beside the point. Who's gonna vote for that?
Me!

What's wrong with Taps? It's a good movie. And it's the only Tom Cruise movie that doesn't capitalize on his good looks, or try to show him as taller than he really is.

Top Gun for the cheesy singing pick up, dogfights, and keeping up foreign relations ;) .

Collateral is where its at.

I normally don't like Tom Cruise as an actor, but he pulled out ALL the stops in that one. He really can be an excellent villain, and I hope he is cast in those sorts of roles more often.

And plus, its directed by Michael Mann, so you know he's going to get great perfomances from his actors.

I think my choice is obvious.
Your choice is obvious as it is self evident fact :high5:

Top Gun reigns supreme over most films, not just Tom Cruise ones. That said, I've got a fondness for some of the others too. War of the Worlds being the most awful distortion of a great literary work I've seen.

from the films listed I liked Rainman best, but I think the credit for that film should go to Dustin Hoffmann, so i voted for minority report

nice thread Mr. Whiz :)

i voted Jerry Maguire but almost did A Few Good Men. he's done lots of good movies though so it was a tough choice. Rainman, Born of the Fourth of July, Top Gun, The Color of Money, & The Last Samurai were all good too.

Vanilla Sky is clearly the worst of the bunch imo.

what about the flic w/ him and Jamie Fox where he plays the assasin dude? that was a good flic ;)

I am suprised to see that Magnolia only have 2 votes so far.Whenever Paul Thomas Anderson write and directs,it is one of the most peculiar and original film in league with Mamet and Kurosawa.

i have to say war of the worlds, but for the most part.. tom isisnt that good of an actore..
