Well, which one? :)

Here are two of my own favourites, because it is clear to me that the artists who made the buildings are very talented:

Seven Kingdoms 2

Those buildings do look nice indeed :)

But in my view they lack the special character a good artist gives, as is evident in my opinnion particularly in the Seven Kingdoms 2 pic. There the buildings are dark and depict a characterisation of the soul given to the faction that uses them, by the designer :)

Seven Kinddoms 2 was a game all about atmosphere :)

Lovely finds Zelig - shows how far computer game art has come :goodjob:

And those screenshots are from 2007 at the latest - best video cards at the time would have been Geforce 8800 cards, which are roughly a quarter of the speed of current cards. AFAIK there aren't any recent strategy games that really take advantage of modern video cards.

M2TW /thread

Mount & Blade would be in 2nd place, if you count it as a strategy game :mischief:

I mean, it has strategy elements... but it remains an action game imo

Show me better in the same category. That's what I thought.

FWIW, MTW2 looks much better than those screenshots on a decent computer, those are low resolution, artifact-full, and highly aliased.
If you know a way to change the basic screenshot resolution without using a third party program, I'll be happy to show some 1920x1080 images in full details, but as it is for now, it's either whatever I got quickly on the Net, or a distorted and blurry 1024x768 pic which will be even worse :p
