Which of these technologies (listed below) would be difficult to create in Star Wars?

Based on existing science and tech already available in Star Wars, which of these would be challenging for a scientist in Star Wars to create? Try to explain why and you can pick multiple entries. Remember, Star Wars is more advanced then the movies often show.

Star Wars technology serves the narrative by allowing the characters to go places and do things. It does not get in the way or cause problems or moral dilemmas the way it sometimes does in Star Trek.

Indeed, there seems to be very little in-universe introspection that takes place, and only the bad guys do much forward planning and intentional re-shaping of their environment.

"Flying submarine" - you mean an airplane?
"Flying syringe" - this one's trivial even without the force. Just visit the Bay Area.
"Quantum money" - I'd stick to credits since the uncertainty of those quantobucks creates a lot of volatility (anyone know if P = NP in Star Wars?)
"Language learning pill" - ahaha. Pure synthesized French molecules in a medicinal capsule, of course. You can also substitute French midichlorians if you want to use the force and speak French

Such things exist but are not the galactic standard. Ancient past, Sith magic or stupidly expensive.

Yes you can argue taking a pill to learn a language is also silly but it’s being looked at as a possibility.

Of course it is. It never pretended to be anything else, unless you want to count the satire element of it.

OTOH, Star Wars is something I considered wonderful when I was 14 (I'm old enough to have seen it in its first run in the theatre). But as the decades have passed, I find there are some elements I appreciate more as I get older that I didn't notice as a kid. And some of the things I liked as a kid just elicit a shrug now.

But two things have remained constant: Star Wars is not real science fiction (there's no science in it), and my favorite character is Han Solo (who shot first).

Most ideas in science fiction (or space fantasy, as I believe a better description of Star Wars to be) often come from other fiction. And yes, Star Wars has a lot of dumb in it (particularly the old EU / Legacy stuff), but that doesn't mean that just because it borrows from other sci-fi and space fantasy tropes, that they aren't fun things to imagine (or cultural things to reference, depending on how into Star Wars you were vs. say Trek, Hitchhiker's, Asimov's Foundation, Dune, etc, et al. Everyone has their starting point into these universes, and everyone has their favourites).

Personally, I just want lightsabers to be real. Issues with the containment field aside, issues with them being powered by Magic Space Crystals aside, I just want them.

I don't think you could make a cheesegrater that doesn't need to be cleaned in one way or another. Same must be true for the Star Wars universe, I don't see any other way

But then that’s the technology - brain programming nanobots. Which means both the language part and pill part are superfluous.

Personally, I just think it’s unrealistic this would be a pharmaceutical product.
