Not to mention Symphony is still human and not even Royalty! How can you expect to get worshipped if you're not royalty! :p
Srsly, WTH was he thinking?

ROYAL BLOOD or GTFO, PL3B

Here's a thought: people should only quote the sections of text they intend to quote, instead of quoting a person's whole freakin' post.

Symph, you're a great player but Luckymoose's open worship of you get tiring.
Yeah, if you'll notice, I didn't endorse it. There's actually the word "resent" somewhere in my response. So don't complain to me because I don't care. :p

I had it, but I didnt really get how to play... Does it have internet gaming?
Sort of.

The way Dominions works is that all players "play" a turn where they set orders, much like in a NES.
Then, for multiplayer Internet play, they submit the turns to the host, who hosts the game, resolves battles and whatnot, and sends back updated files for the next turn.
In singleplayer, the player just presses "End turn" and the computer hosts and generates the next turn at once.

It's not anarchy, it's tribalism. ;)

I think of it more as a functional anarchy.

That doesn't exist :p

Anyway, @ Iggy/das/anyone else interested, assuming you're playing in Bird's next NES, do you have any ideas for your culture? Throw some ideas out and maybe we can see if our cultures are similar to pull a cradle together.

@LB- Yes it does. We have no central authority, no real written laws, only mod powers and vigilanteism.

For BirdNES: Yexal- A kind of weird cultural mix, sort of Mesoamerican with Oriental influences, preferably in some sort of upland or mountainous jungle area.

More of a meritocracy. Only people who prove some sort of value are listened to much.

Mine was going to be a very monumentalist, materialistic culture. It would be very infatuated with the acquisition and accumulation of wealth. But it would also focus most of its engineering efforts on monumental structures that would reflect the power and wealth they people most covet.

Society would thusly be urban and aristocratic. There would be things like coliseums for pit fights, zoos where exotic creatures could kept as a sign of prestige. The ruler's palace would be decadent and gigantic.

Religion wise they would mostly worship the Wealth/Pretige/Precious Stones/Fertility God(s), with more emphasis placed on that first one. Priests would dress opulently and reside in opulent temple-cathedrals. Very renaissance Catholic.

In wars they would conquer land if it suited them and increased them, but mostly wars would end when they had plundered a country of its treasure. They don't care for destruction, they just want more gold chalices and beautiful women.

In other words, Bigger+Richer=Better

My culture will be "Asian" not necessarily Chinese. :p But did anyone even need to ask?

Do you ever feel the need in life for a change, or have you already stagnated for so long that it feels normal - nay, even good? :p

There are many aspects of "Asia." You've never read some of the rather ah... "different" venues of Chinese Populist thought have you? :p

The values are creativity and ingenuity. The society is fairly meritocratic, though there is a divine monarchy that is above all others. The artisan and craftsman are viewed very well. While peace is preferred, force is sometimes used to protect the great lands of Yexal.

As many of the buildable lands in in the country are small, most cities are forced to be compact, or built into the landscape. Stepped spires and small overhangs are commonly seen in Yexal architecture.

Anyway, just extending on my ideas.

My plans may change before Bird starts the NES, but I think I would enjoy creating and intentionally running into the ground a new nation every update.

I think, if I join Bird's NES, I will recycle my Sardinian idea and make it work this time. D:

But what if some of them are wildly successful? :mischief:
