Over the past few days we've been visted by both Perfection and Fifty, two OT posters who have a reputation of sorts. Folks often think of them as the same, but they are not at all the same. I've quoted all the posts from both over the past few days and the difference is readily apparent.

You will notice that with Perfection the posts are all about him and his skills and ability. With Perf it is clearly "all about him", his talents (which are considerable), and his ego (which is also considerable). Count the "I's", "me's" and "my's".

Well, NES stuff may not be trash compared to normal posts but compared to mine it is.

I'm not really trying to say NES posts are bad, only that mine are of infinitely superior quality.

I've been at this much longer than you. I know how to spam. Here's the deal: In a swift moving thread you need to get replies out as swiftly as possible and checking to see if your post is still the last after writing a response is a needless slowdown that should be avoided. The result is the occasional double post but a faster response time, something that in my extensive experience is often worth it.

When I mean spam I take it in a strideful artistic sense rather then a pajoritive sense. This is not amateur spam, this is expert spam that displays a distinct amount of wit, style, and cunning.

You need to understand that my posts aren't just a means to increase a number but practically a form of poetry!

And really if we wanna do a forum by forum comparison, OT's babe thread series is much bigger then any NES here.

I agree! I liked my spot in SheepNES even though I kinda lost track of it after getting banned like a crap ton of times. I wouldn't mind joining something like that if I can do mostly nonserious stuff.

Now here are Fifty's Posts. You will notice a huge difference. Fifty is all about control and destruction and how he has power over any forum he choses to visit. He talks about his "minions" who he controls; about how he has and is willing to create havoc and wreck forums just because he thinks he can. The implication (and veiled threat) is that we should be grateful if he leaves us alone. Fifty lists his sole talent as being a trouble maker.

The NES forum has its merits. Several fifty chatters also NES, and the NES forums are the most likely venue for seeing birdjaguar at his witty and silly best. Its also one of the easiest places to get PC, so if I ever decide to start going for PC I can just come here and spam a hundred posts a day or so completely under the radar. Of course, NES has its bad points as well (e.g. it keeps emoddon and a deluge of other unremarkable posters from leaving completely), but overall it aint a bad thing.

Several of my minions that happen to NES have tried getting me into it in the past, but it just doesn't tickle my fancy all that much. You guys probably wouldn't like it anyways if me and Perfy started NESing, because inevitably we'd come to completely control it, just like we did with the CFC chatroom scene. Plus, I can't direct my wit, intelligence, and humor too strongly in one place for very long, because if I do, everything just starts falling apart because nobody can handle how much of a hardcore sex pig I am.

Example: My creating a demogame RPG character resulted in:
1. me being banned and almost permbanned;
2. Giant mass PMs to all mods;
3. Big old mod meetings including a review of every post I've ever made
4. Lefty coming out of his slumber
5. The eventual creation of #fiftychat and the permanent killing of the CFC chatroom (its very much dead now)

There's more, but you get the idea!

I more or less agree. Postcount is only worth bragging about when its > 20,000. Perf's achievement is just especially amazing because in addition to 30,000++ posts, he is also the highest quality poster around. As I only have around 6k, I have no intentions to ever "go for" PC.

However, were I ever to decide to go for PC, NES forum would be a perfect venue. There's very little moderation, so I could easily fly under the radar for awhile, and when the forum eventually got spammy enough to warrant increased mod attention, I wouldn't give a crap, because I don't care all that much about preserving the generally unremarkable spam that goes on here.

Nah, they're quite different. By my observations of OT posts and stuff ehre Perf has an interestingly 'aloof yet approachable' demeanor, while Fifty is more dark and subtle.

There's also a place called 'The Frontier', which has a fairly strong community, though it's style is greatly different from us.

I realise that, what I am in the mood for however is a non-earth based fresh start. It's understandable why there may be a lack but it just annoys me. By the way I had no intent on leaving what so ever. You know what would be good is a non-earth based modern fresh start.

As I have mentioned before the world is a planet coming out of an ice age with massive glaciers covering the northern and southern hemispheres. North King and I have not decided on a way to make it work out on the map but are pretty close to this. He is making this wonderfully map which should be ready by the end of the week. The Cradle at least. Then you will all behold it.
