While We Wait: Part 4

completely ignoring lucky's comment, if you judge by my area codes (neither of them my work phone, only personal use phones), I live in TWO cities. BEAT THAT! (one of non-toronto, 905/289, and one of toronto 416/647)

Sorta like a lot of NoVA people who have 571- cells and 703- home phones? :p I guess it's not quite the same.

Out of all NESers, I'm the closest to the largest concentration of nuclear missile target points in the world.

You know, mobile phones kill your brain with microwaves, and make you more susceptible to the mind control devices of the cabal of evil corporate tyrants which rules the civilised world.

WAKE UP OUT THERE!!!

Seriously, we need a plan for when Bush cancels the 2008 election and declares marshal law in the USA, in alliance with oil companies and Apple/Microsoft. I suggest we start infiltrating world governments ASAP.

@bestshot, if you're referring to the screenshot I posted, that is Hearts of Iron 2 (+Doomsday expansion) which has already been out for some years. Not to be confused with the postings about 'Spore', which is coming out in September last time I checked.

no i meant that FPS game that takes up like no space.

Hey, Nuke. How come you haven't hurried up and gotten an IM client that doesn't suck, like Trillian? Stop IMing me with your stupid viruses.

huh, what are you talking about? What is Trillian? How am I IMing you with viruses? Does anyone else have that problem?

I used to live 400m from the Houses of Parliament, enough to be in the initial fireball!

However I've since moved to a crappier area: Chance of thermonuclear death is down, chance of being stabbed is up!

Is that the same Parliament where you need to get approval to protest? :p

*cough* Westminster *cough*

EDIT:
This makes that seem rather trivial...

Masada's quote of the day,

From "President" Robert Mugabe ""We are not going to give up our country because of a mere 'X.' [on a ballot]. How can a ballpoint fight with a gun?"

According to my cell phone I live in Charleston, my home phone says Georgia. That is changing soon though.

Yes, I was always amused by the tourists surprised it was just slap down in the middle of the city like that.

You need to get permission because it is by a major arterial road junction and the protesters will get hurt/cause snarl ups, and the police need to manage the traffic for you. There are a small park across the road where you can protest to you're hearts content.

Assuming the SS-18's guidance systems are good enough to hit it that close, yeah. ;)

I live near Blackpool airport, and not too far from Warton airfield which is a 'major assembly and testing facility of BAE Systems Military Air Solutions' says Wikipedia. I think both were targets of soviet nukes back in the day. But then so were a lot of places I guess :)

Well the 'beta version' is available for download from their website. Since its two years old, I don't think they are going to make any more versions! Although its only a 96k download, it does need quite a good computer to run (I just about managed on my 2ghz Geforce 5700 system). I can't get my head around those procedural effects. It looks amazing to my eyes, so much detail, all in considerably less data than is on this page of this forum. Im hopeful that some of the same coolness makes it into Spore. It seems like the way to go for game development.

Heh, windows automatically updated last night and now it keeps telling me my Windows explorer has a problem and needs to shut down...

A certain crumbling fortress in Judea wonders exactly how another crumbling edifice in Washington State has manages to crumble so long and still "function".

But then so were a lot of places I guess :)
Like the Washington, DC area? :p Hell, even terrorists would target my old high school (as of a week ago, I can say "old"...woo!); the National Guard apparently has extant plans to deploy there in the event of a high-level alert.

My Vista was acting up along similar lines a few nights ago. Not sure why.

Yes, your client tries to send me viruses with regularity. I reply to you every time it happens, so if you check your offline messages you'll see how many times it's happened.

Obviously, then, he doesn't give a whit whom he's inconveniencing with his virus-riddled client and in fact won't do anything to alleviate the situation, seeing as we've already told him and showed him how easy it is to get a better client anyway.

The clear answer is to simply block him from all communications until he sees the error of his ways. GUILTY OR INNOCENT? GUILTY!

Also, people on Live prove Gabriel's Internet Theory. Particularly if you talk to them about GIT. It's self-actualizing; pretty amazing really. That said, does anybody else other than Chandrasekhar routinely play [Halo 3] online?
