In that case, go for an Earth 2000 BC fresh start, using the IT-BT system. It might be interesting to use a cradle-type system for that--so players can only start in the first BT where there was actually real civilization at that point (the Middle East, India, and China essentially). Basically CZ maps, but much stricter.
If I were to mod this as a fairly fast (i.e. update every three-four days) NES, would people participate? And should there be one, two, or three cradles?

The rules won't be that complicated, as I want to make updating it fairly easy. The main reason for limiting starting locations is to make player interaction sufficiently high that I don't have to deal with huge numbers of NPCs.It sounds like something I'd join.
