While We Wait: Part 4

Nesland should get territorial claims on all provinces because Nesland should be out to conquer the world.

I, flyingchicken, would like to have a role in the mod as an aerial leader with the "Tank Buster" trait, with a starting skill of 1 and a max skill of 7, and with any non-realistic portrait that of a chicken you might happen to have.

What happened to von Dulkenheit? (or however it was spelled :p).

Joe wants a general though. Or a minister; the portraits should be easy to find :D

And I believe they are Miniature Giant Space Hamsters. You make Minsc and Boo very sad.

The corpse is gone!!! Where did it go? And everything else is gone too, the colorful tarp, all those crowds of people, the inscene. All in the course of a day. They were there all night. This is most odd.

Some strange evil is afoot....

Its actually a particularly stupid line of reasoning, given that the theology asserts that He did, in fact, "do it Himself" in the person of Christ, as Christ is both human and divine.

I actually meant the more general accusations of God being somehow the lesser for not fast-forwarding the world into Kingdom Come. But yes, Arianism is stupid too.

If he did it himself we would have done something flashy like burn the earth or part the seas. :p

Our Lord is not nearly as much of a shallow show-off as certain polytheistic deities I could mention. *glares at Marduk*

Also, I apologise for jointly causing a religious debate. But since potentially religiously-offensive material has already been posted, I will share my own belief: that religion is basically a human invention, and while there is wisdom to be found from it, it does not give an accurate picture of the 'truth'. Currently I'm leaning towards the view of a layered reality, everything interconnected with the original source at a subtle or not-so-subtle level, with the universe simultaneously existing as many different viewpoints while also being an indivisible whole. The overall goal of 'god' in this scenario is seemingly to investigate itself from as many different angles as possible.

You might be interested in some monotheistic forms of Hinduism, because I'm pretty sure I've read something very similar in a quote from some modern Hinduist philosopher (well, it's not so much about "self-investigation" as about experiencing everything that living beings could experience).

In any case, it is ofcourse obvious that human beings are very much fallible and all that they create is therefore insufficient. The whole point of theology, as I see it, is to try and refine religion (as one may refine ore) in an attempt to reach the cosmic truth hidden within it. That attempt may very well be futile, but futility is no excuse for not trying it again and again, certainly not in this case.

I just saw 10,000 BC. WTH.....it was like 300 in terms of historical accuracy, but completly lacked any entertainment value of any sort.

At least 300 was cool. This was just....meh. The Great Pyramid of Giza was being built with wooly mammoths under the rule of a 7 foot tall, despotic white Phorah who people believed was a god, he also wore claws and white silk. Yeh I wanted to kill myself. And then the tribe of the main character was all white even though they were in the middle of bloody Africa. And don't forgot the Sahraha existed.....Ice Age and Sahraha does not compute. They decided to cross the Sahrah instead of just following the Nile....I mean seriously.... oh and wooly mammoths and sabertooth tigers are completly domesticated BTW. And we can't forget the 100 foot tall giant flesh eating ostriches found in the jungle. Yeh....

Oh and the slave trade was well and active, they had ships, knew horseback riding, had bows and arrows, metal smelting, gold working, masonry, among other things. And Egypt was well established. In 10,000 BC....

While on the subject of parting seas. Doesn't God know Jews were never slaves in Egypt?

Depends on who do you consider the Jews to have actually been during their time in Egypt, and that's not even getting into the broad ancient meanings of the word "slave". ;) Really, the possibilities between the two are nigh-limitless.

Kind David was "circa 1000 BC", so yes. :p

This or something similar, might be what das is referring to.

I actually came to the realization (being at an international school helps) that my personal philosophies are extremely close to those of various schools of Hinduism.

Exactly! That and he is more geographically suited for the aforementioned Roman Empire thing. But most importantly, he was granted some new powers by a document named "Recommendation #666". There's no arguing with the numbers!

@das, really, #666? OK, you convinced me! I must admit I hadn't heard of the guy before you mentioned him. Is there any chance he could become European President eventually?

Thankyou both, that does look interesting!

You should have a Minister of Culture As you don't, I'll take Minister of Security to silence all cultural dissenters!

I hope you will be under the watchful eye of Pikachu. The best damn minister of security ever.

@alex, im afraid luckymoose is right. I gave Pikachu the 'Prince of Terror' trait, and I refuse to remove him just yet. You can be Minister of Intelligence instead :)

Trik only has one K in his name... but that's still awesome daft.

OK I will fix that! I think I made that mistake once or twice before too.

Certainly, any preferences for the portrait?

My Space Hamster overlords are only very slightly similar to the DnD variety, although I still have the greatest respect for them also.

I need an honest opinion. Am I still a bad noob or am I getting better? rate 1 (what is a comp?) to 10 (I know what I am doing and how to do it... I just need to reread the rules again...) and a < or > to show... I really need to know! It is for my sanity!

You've improved very slightly. There have been fewer posts about soviet al-quaedas, but still far too few with any real content. Maybe a 1.5.
