In terms of whether the game should go on? You tell me: stop because one single outspoken critic has argued his case, or play because dozens wish for the game to commence?

Save your Argumentum ad populum for a more logical interjection. :)
In terms of whether his objections are valid and changes should be made.

In terms of whether the game should be *completely* redone, or to continue with the current concept. :)
Except it wouldn't require a complete revision. Pay attention pls. :p

Uh, I think it would... :p
Would it require stat changes in the other 2/3 of the world that isn't the Americas? Would it require map changes in those areas?

The whole concept is that the game is designed to mirror real exploration: going into the unknown.

Now, change the fact that the Americas should stay as it was in RL, then its a substantial change.

Exploration by whom?

Substantial change != complete revision returns true. :)

Why is Danish income 2 compared to Poland's 1000? Just asking. I know that you have been considering it.

Great logic.

Lets throw out the fact that the game is specifically made to have exploration into unknown areas. Let's instead redesign the game into the opposite, where players know that America is the land across the ocean; let the players know that Virginia has no gold, and that colonizing Mexico and Peru will make them a substantial amount of income. Let's take out the entire concept of exploring new lands and instead let the players have their historic knowledge to back their orders.

Can you honestly argue that the above change doesn't completely revise the concept of the game? I didn't think so.

Thanks for playing.

The game concept isn't being completely revised even in that case, because the exploration in Africa and Asia already screwed up, and parts are visible that oughtn't be. ( porn) There's already an element of player foreknowledge about stuff that was explored and colonized just as much as the Americas were during this period. Further, exploration and colonization isn't viable or conceivable for the vast majority of players in the NES; what good will it do them?

Presumptuous of you.

I don't understand your point. Are you arguing that, because Africa has been explored, we can't change what the Americans will look like? That makes little sense. :p

Thanks for playing

No, I'm arguing that if exploring the unknown is the point, a piss-poor job has been done of making a NES around it.

Technically Central Africa particularly the Congo and the bulk of Siberia should be shrouded as well.

Nord my man, you wouldn't be willing to negotiate on the issue of China would you?

Honestly Dachs its ok. You can express your opinion :) I may have gotten carried away, if so then I apologize. I just do sometimes in a debate.

Sorry but it is unlikely I have already made plans for what I want to do.

Thanks dude. I'm just kinda happy that the whole colonization bit won't affect me at all. (Or so I want you all to think...bwahahahaha)

Why do I worry about the fate of China?

Again. <_<
