The solution is to stop using Mibbit. I warned y'all that it could get infected again -at any time-.

People really need to relax!

Added much to my NES (Tho still a bit of a mess)

Other islands (essentially a whole world is out there)
Religion, Culture as well as Technology!

Once I have properly set this out, hopefully it will draw in people craving a magical fresh start.

Anyone interested?

If it was just a fresh start I would be interested... but magic is just not my thing. Sorry.

I've been banned from NESchat. Unban the Sorcelator, or he'll take it to the limit.

No you haven't. I rectified the mistake. My condolences.

I'm more interested than before, certainly. I may come try it out once Pre-ChaNES is completed. I've been passing up a lot of NESes I'd otherwise be interested in to focus on my own, but once this phase of development has been completed, I should be more active as a player.

I can't believe it took me this long to realize where I heard Kayade before when reading Daft's posts in Abaddon's NES. I knew it sounded familiar, but I couldn't put my finger on it. but now it seems like such a splap in the face.

"My name is Grimm Shado", said Grimm Shado, his triple wand claws extending...

Are people still using NESchat? I haven't since my last virus scan.

Yes. It's pretty swinging in the afternoon, but it tends to die out in the evening. I guess no European people want to condescend to hang out with us filthy Americans. :(

You guys should come in, we have two cool bots.

NESBot, who I've arbitrarily decided is a female, does all the talking. She does the news, Uno, trivia, kicking people, setting modes, whatever.

Statbot, who I've arbitrarily decided is a male, is silent and brooding. He collects stats, strangely enough. You can view those here: http://razorvine.selfip.net/nes/

Glad to hear. I'd like to get more NESers involved :)

Trying to make it more interesting to storyist, high quality demanding NESers

Random Number Generators [...] they are good at determing battle outcomes, especially for mods
Me no like determing battle outcomes using random number generators. Maybe random number generator to generate outlier general...

Yeah, I've never really liked the idea of using random number generators to decide battles. It just doesn't give good results, and I believe it is a bit lazy. Sure, maybe a random number generator could be used to add a small amount of luck to a NES, but it shouldn't decide anything too major.

You can use the RNG to provide a starting point for additions and subtractions based on national differences and orders.

Attacking Army gets
+5 for weapons
+10 for leadership
+15 for orders

Defending army gets
-15 for defenses
+10 for crappy orders
-10 for leadership

RNG is changed by +40-25 = +15 in favor of the attacker.

This, and what BJ said. I won't use attack or defense strength, nor random numbers, when I decide an outcome of a battle. I normally use common sense. But it's included since it would be practical to some people. :)

Common sense+random number for situations with multiple plausible outcomes (though, a coin or an ordinary die can honestly work as fine here; no need to make those things at all complicated). Not just for battles, by the way (I'm mostly thinking of naval voyages and the more fortuitous+significant assassination attempts, but there are other applications).

I am merely thinking that chance almost always is important in warfare, therefore a RNG is good in some situations, but what das said is important as well (Especially as I think warfare is too emphasized in NESing, which also is quite embarassing for me only thinking about the RNG in combat situations).

Btw, BJ, what does the last quote in your sig mean?

A parrot saying its last words?
