Whitethorne

Well Charles, most ranchers wouldn't live in town but on their ranch.

As for people in jail, the town has been suspiciously peaceful as of late, and there are no people in jail right now. That could all change any day now...

And NWG3 and LM, Crimen war ended in 1856, it is now 1867 (2 years after the civil war). No more need to argue.

Few reasons he lived here.

For profile for those that come.

He has associate ranchers that own ranches he looks over once in a while. They do it because he has expairance and also money to tide anyone over. In return... that is unknown...

Three... Well... something about a g... Blasted off the page with a fantastic force.

EDIT: Oops- apparently this question was answered.

Okay then Charles, that's fine, but don't take one of the businesses if that's what you meant by houses, the residential part of town isn't really on the map, i figured it wouldn't be that important since most action probably will take place downtown, you can make up your own house in the residential area.

NO, I mean every few days he goes out to 'check Ranch mates' and then something happens a few days after he comes back. Just that. Also he works in the stables. (he loves that :), actually, as role-player: I love it!)

Owns a ranch and works in stables... Okok, I'll go off, he's lame. He's too much work. So let me be Sheirff.

Captain Jacob Anderson was considered an average captain in the United States Cavalry, and rather than send some high ranking officer to this new fort they sent Anderson instead, thinking he will just be killed off soon by the indians or bandits. With orders in hand and a new American flag, he boarded the next stage coach to Whitethorn, he always did despise the ride, due to its rough ride. Fortunatly for him, today was his lucky day, two other passengers were also in the coach, both charming young females, who appear to be Jacob's age. After a short conversation, it was discovered the two young ladies were going to Austin, a stop along the way. Jacob was understandably sad, but nevertheless, he always boasted to the ladies about his deeds in the Civil War, in his words, "Kicking some Confederate ***.", and that he was on his way to assume command of south Texas largest fort. A slight exaggeration of course but he wanted to impress the ladies.

As the stage neared Austin, Jacob woke to a gunshot and peered outside the window, a short distance away, several units from the Austin Cavalry detachment was busy silencing the noisy bandits. The women sighed and Jacob beamed, "That is what I will be doing down south." Again the women sighed. Apparently Yankee Troopers were popular.

After several kisses and hugs the stage left Austin with a sad and disapointed Jacob in tow. But at least they knew how to read and write, that was a plus, and once Jacob arrives at his new post, he would immediatly get to writing them. Jacob drifted back to sleep, as the stagecoach raced along the beaten path left by the wagon trains. When Jacob woke up, he realized the stage was nearing Whitethorne and began to slow down, the fort was their first stop. Jacob jumped off the stage and grabbed his one lone bag and said good bye to the character who joined him in Austin. He also said good bye to the rider and shotgunner, and headed to the post hq. The soldiers had yet to arrive, they left Austin two days ago and is expected to be in Whitethorne tomorrow. This gave Jacob plenty of time to survey the contruction of the fort and prepare for tomorrow's inaugeration of the fort. But his first task was to write a letter to the ladies he met on the stage.

I claim a Ranch outside the town. I will write a bio when i have more time and ideas.

I believe he was refering to the fact that you owned several ranches, one in Whitethorn and own the livery stables that provides the town with horses and cattle. A very profitable business if you manage it right. Of course you would have to rely on the troopers to keep the indians out of your hair... *we will accept a small cash payment of say 500 dollars a month.*

But whatever, your choice afterall.

Charles, i'll let you make the sheriff, but the sheriff gotta be done realistically like can be corrupt or good or w/e but make it clear enough for me to understand what you're writing about, because half the time i have no idea what you're talking about.

Can we please have a more compitent sherrif? Sherrif should be someone who has a lot of time on their hands and is very good at RPing and staying IC.

Captain Anderson got up early today, at the crack of dawn and dressed in his best uniform, today was the big day, the cavalry detachement should be here soon and the fort will be named and the flag raised, Jacob was tingling in excitement, he never had such a command before. He walked over to the flagstaff in the center of the fort and proudly looked at it, he then walked over to the gate and stared longly for the telltale dust cloud that signifies a cavalry group. After staring for a while he frowned and headed back to his office, the stagecoach was due any time now and he must get the letters ready, this stagecoach was coming from Los Angeles and going to Austin then St Louis. The town's first mail should arrive today.

As Jacob was sealing the letters, he heard the familiar clatter of horse hooves and ran outside and stared into the distance, a dust cloud was visible, but it was from the West, it was the stagecoach. Jacob sighed, he rushed back to the office to gather his personal letters and official letters and packed them into the bag, assigned to him by the stage line. Jacob stood near the route and threw the bag up to the shotgunner, all without even slowing down. The stage wont stop unless it has too, and it already stopped in Whitethorn to get fresh horses.

He never understood why the stage didn't just drop the mail at the town, until his superior officers told him, "The mail is too important to drop in lawless towns, they must be dropped in forts nearby." He shook his head, he didn't think Whitethorn was that bad, but nonetheless he took the bag to his office and sat it down in the corner, he still had to wait for his troopers to arrive first. Several hours later, he heard another familiar clatter of horse hooves and rushed out, this time the dust cloud was from the north, the direction of Austin, and his heart went faster, then deflated again, it was just the stage again. He headed back to the route and waited for more mail to drop, but instead the coach came to a screeching halt and the driver jumped off, he walked to the door and opened it, and out came a young boy and his mother. Jacob bowed to the woman and spoke, "Welcome to Fort Rio ma'am. May I be of service?"
"This boy is to stay here at the fort at the wishes of General Sherman. I shall leave him in your care."
"But why?"
"This letter comes direct from General Sherman, it should answer your questions."
"Yes, ma'am." With that the woman entered the coach and the coach raced off, without even leaving mail behind.

Jacob looked at the boy and then the letter in his hand, he opened the letter and started to read it. When he finished the letter, he looked back at the boy again and sighed. "Well boy, I guess we got to find you a room." With that horses were heard again, this time Jacob ignored it, he led the boy to a small room in the back of the Post HQ and gave him some bedding supplies. Jacob left the room and headed back to the parade ground, already horses and men were lining up inside the fort, Jacob smiled, the troopers had finally arrived. He walked over to the sergeant in charge and ordered the men to dismount. Jacob gave the men a short speech and brought out the flag, he chose two men from the group to unravel it and hoist the colors up high, the band who showed up from the town played 'Star Spangled Banner'. With the flag ceremony done, Jacob turned to his men and said, "Welcome to Fort Rio. The newest fort in Texas and the United States." The men cheered. Captain Anderson turned to the sergeant and said, "Muster 10 men, including yourself for a trip to town. I must pay the mayor and sheriff a visit."
The sergeant stood at attention and saluted. Within minutes the group was ready and the Captain jumped on his own horse brought in by the troopers and headed to town.

Ok: either Sheriff's boy or Cap' the master rancher.

Ok... but only If I choose Cap' others are talking about my competance.

Charles, i'll let you make the sheriff, but the sheriff gotta be done realistically like can be corrupt or good or w/e but make it clear enough for me to understand what you're writing about, because half the time i have no idea what you're talking about.

Thank you! But still the conpetance question...

Can we please have a more compitent sherrif? Sherrif should be someone who has a lot of time on their hands and is very good at RPing and staying IC.

See, they question my competance. Ok, ok, I won't be sheriff. Happy? I don't have much time but I am good at RPing when I want too. So there.

Yes, but reading your typing is aggrivating. You just simply don't follow the form or structure of anyone else here.

You type as if you are physically talking to someone.

Well to be fair, this type of NES is a good NES to practice your typing skills as it is story based.

But perhaps someone who is not important, I mean the sheriff will be busy handling bandits, winning quick draws etc... and the rancher is a better choice, you can just hole yourself up at your ranch and not type a single story. :p

Perhaps a Deputy? Working for the sheriff? Or one of my troopers?

Its nothing against you Charles, everyone has their own way of doing things, but its easier for everyone else to understand someone who types like them, and for such an important character like the sheriff, I think Abaddon has a point.
