Who has been the worst?

Why, Clinton the Felon!

(ps - welcome ApocalypseKurtz! - great movie, great book.... and well, ummm pretty OK state :p)

heh well they don't call it Taxachusetts for nothing...

but I like my state, we got 1 big city, some farmland, and plenty of suburbs :)

But wait, you live in the liberal heartland of America and you chose CLINTON as the worst? Yeah, he cheated on his wife, blah blah blah, but he was a good PRESIDENT.

At least I think so...

Well, I voted for Reagan, even though I don't think he was horrible. He is just the one I disagree with the most on issues like Taxes his dealings with the Christian Right, and his disregard for the enviroment. But he did do some good in respect to the military and some deregulation (though I think he went to far).

If you want my opinion on the recent worst, I would go with Nixon.
If not Nixon, then Ford because of the economic troubles.
Then Carter next as worst for the economy and his Israel policies. (Sort of sequential my motion of dislike)

I sort of like Bush Sr. and I overall I think Clinton did well. My initial impression of Bush Jr. is idiot and inexperienced, but he can easily grow in office. Both FDR, Truman, and Lincoln were inexperienced and not considered all that smart. The jury is still out out on Bush Jr.

P.S. Worst President ever, Buchanan, President right before Lincoln. He let the country fall apart.

Another freakin mass-hole! :)
We're takin over round here!

The Clinton administration did more good than bad. Look past Bill's shortcomings and obvious personal flaws and we'd see a lot of really good things.

A president doesnt have to be perfect to be a good president, and in the end, does it really matter if the guy got a little head and then tried to cover it up?( because, well monica is a bit embarassing ;)) Is it? Put Bill in the long line of politicians who like an occasional out of marriage peice of ass. Most political marriages are marriages of convenience to start anyway.

Maybe I'm way off in my guess, but I am willing to bet that Bill didn't get any from Hillary. Whats a man supposed to do? Let of a little steam with a giddy little intern? Sure! Thats what I would do if I had Hillary as my wife:)

And in gwb's defense, he is just getting started and really shouldnt be on the list. Wait another 3 years, and then put him on the poll.

In his short time, I think he's done pretty well. The country is in good shape right now considering what has happened. And look at gwb's approval rating!

Although i'm not American, I voted for Bush junior, considering he's peed off just about everybody he could have in the short time he's been in office, although I was tempted by Reagan. Bush senior wasn't too bad, considering the work he did in finally ending the cold war and his handling of the gulf. Bush jnr hasn't really learnt this "compromise" thing yet, though. Let's hope he follows in his father's footsteps and only has one term.

P.S, approval ratings during wartime don't generally mean much: Look at Bush senior's ratings during the gulf. Ultimately, president's are mainly judged on what they do at home rather than abroad, with the obvious notable exceptions here and there.

This is really an idiotic poll.

How can you include Reagan but fail to include Carter, Nixon, or Johnson? I understand you said recent, and I suppose twenty years is a lot for many of you, but I truly think you should reconsider your choices.

Wait....oh, I see, your from Massachusetts...;)

~Chris

P.S.- My vote would be a close tie: Carter and Johnson.

I think this is a dumb poll too, you include Reagan but not Carter?

Not only that, but how can you put George Bush in there? He's only been the President for not even 11 months.

"Hey, hey, LBJ, how many did you kill today?..."

You should have gone back at least that far, remember there ARE some people here who were "all growed up" when Reagan was president ;)....

Johnson--Got us VERY deep into a war we should never have gotten involved in, plus he was a power-seeking snake who blackmailed everybody. Probably the worst in my lifetime (well I was born in '68, his last year....)

Nixon--Yes he got us out of Vietnam (eventually), but he was a crook, and we still probably don't know the whole story on that scumbag....

Ford--Nothing real memorable about him--could have been halfway decent but was a victim of Watergate fallout....

Carter--A very morally upstanding man (rare for a president or other high official), was a "true" Christian.... But he was weak as a leader. I still remember the gas lines and prices of everything going up month by month....

Reagan--while he rubbed shoulders with the fundies, he really didn't give them much of anything they wanted (but he made recovering fundies like me pretty nervous). But overall I remember him as a strong leader, a sort of "father figure" we needed at the time. The 80s economy was good too (although the music royally sucked :) but that has nothing to do with the prez). Put it this way, I've already seen much worse, and have since then too....

Bush Sr.--a second (or is it third) generation rich boy, ex-CIA and involved in some dubious sh*t in Latin America. A cynical power junkie who f*cked up in the end....

Clinton--likeable guy (I'd have a beer with him), but represented the sleazy side of the democratic party. Janet Reno, money from China, technology to China, lots of people dying mysteriously.... You be the judge. I also disagreed with many of his views, especially gun control. And MTV just assuming that he was the great hope and voice of Generation X made me vomit. I certainly didn't give a sh*t about his love life, and I was pissed that THAT was where all the attention was going, when it should have been focused on things far worse....

Bush Jr.--like someone said, he (unlike the others) hasn't had the benefit of a full term yet. I don't have a lot of respect for him given his background of f*ckups and addiction though--all covered by his rich family and friends. I really think he needs to prove a lot about himself. Will he do it? We'll see....

Of the four choices, I didn't vote for any of them--they all had bad and good about them. But in MY lifetime? LBJ, all the way....

Buchannan, (Andrew) Johnson and a vague, senile fool who kept declaring our country at odds with some evil empire; his name eludes me at the moment...

I SAID RECENT YOU DUMB HICKS!!!!

AND IF YOU DON'T LIKE MY POLL, I GOT 2 WORDS FOR YA:

SUCK IT

This poll has proven how terrible Bush Jr. has done in his short time in office; he is the most hated president out of our 4 most recent, and he has been president for under a year! What a travesty!

Some of you may be so ancient as to gave forgotten the meaning of the word "recent" but in my opinion, "recent" should not go back farther than 16 years!

This silly poll proves nothing.

Hhhmmmm.....would have been more interesting with more choices,actually....

Reagan? Well, that guy didn't remember what happened in 1981 even in 1982! Similar I think to W in that he put together a staff and let them run the country. All he had to do was pump out the occassional one-liner sound bites his speechwriters gave him. I just hope that 'W' isn't sooo much like him that we'll be in the same place a decade later that reagan got is into a decade after he came into office.

Nobody likes to pay their taxes, but that isn't a reason to blow up the economy. You listening 'W'?

When you think about it, when's the last time we had a GOOD president???????

I liked bubba personally, and as someone said above, I'd like to sit around and put away a 12 pack with him. But dude was such a scumbag, it took away from an otherwise great presidency and now all anyone remembers is Monica.

Bradley or McCain would have been better than either of the 'losers' that won the nominations.

'W', while he has the obligatory high ratings of a president during a war, hasn't got a chance. I think the whole country realizes, though just over half would probably admit it, that more people in florida DID want to vote for gore than for w. I'm not talking about chads and sh*t. I'm talking about the thousands and thousands of votes in that one little community of jewish seniors registered for....patrick buchanan??? Now, if you can't admit that those votes (for damn sure a very large majority of them) were meant for Al Gore, you're kidding yourself and probably have no ability to look at a situation without bias.

The fact is, those votes going to Gore gives him Fla. and, thus, the presidency.

'W' also knew this, and fought it anyway.

Thus, my vote goes to the only guy (other than Kennedy and his pops?) to successfully steal a presidential election.....George WTH Bush.

Voodoo,

Once again you have brought forth meaningless arguments without even considering the impact a President has made. When people talk about Reagan "not remembering 1981", I just cringe. It really does demonstrate your skewed, or lack thereof, of his presidency. But wait...you are from California...you must have liked him? Unless of course you are from San Francisco.

If you would like to further debate Reagan's impact upon the world, then I invite you to in a similar manner. I would be happy to rebut you and anything you say with facts, something liberals tend to overlook. Otherwise, please keep your meaningless garbage out of an otherwise productive forum.

Thanks, I better go out with Billy Bob to the truck to pick up the hay. ;)

A self-selecting poll on a website proves nothing. As for being the most hated president out of the 4, check out his approval ratings, 85% eh.

I didn't vote for him, and would still vote for Gore, but its far to early to judge Bush's presidency. He might grow in the office like other presidents, or he might not.

Clinton sucks. Also
GWB shouldn't be on this lists, he has only been president for what 9 months?

This is getting really pathetic, what poll is this about best american president or worst american president?
5th one?
Funny that foreigners take the vote.
These polls mean nothing, none of us are political experts, most of us are little kids.
Some of us are old farts(lefty):p
We all listen and believe what the news agencies tell us.
In europe it seems that your being told that America is evil, we are the evil dictators of the world and will destroy the world.
I mean really its pretty damn pathetic. Give the president a chance, judge him when his term is over.
Senate moves so god damn slow you won't be able to tell what the hell any president has done.
Ignorant people piss me off:(
