On a serious level, there are millions of people I'd want to talk to. I remember a professor from Tennessee telling me that as he watched the film Gettysburg, each time he would shout just as Picket's men lined up to charge across the field: "DON'T DO IT LEE! DON'T DO IT!!"
There's an H.P. Lovecraft novella about an 18th century maniac who is able to revive the long-dead and extract their knowledge from them. Who other than a madman would try this?
Even overlooking the reality of language - can anyone in this thread speak Socrates' 6th century B.C. Greek? - what would you say to them? Would you be tempted to warn them of impending doom or their enemies' plots? "You may not believe this, but I'm your great-grandson, and I wanted to advise you to sell all your stocks before next Friday, the 29th of October, 1929..."; "Mr. President, perhaps you should just stay in tonight with a good book instead of going to Dallas."; "Mr. Speaker, I'd like to advise the Right Honourable Member of Parliament that now would be an excellent time to check Parliament's basement for explosives..."; "Jesus, Lord of Lords, if you could just clarify for me if you really wanted a formal bureaucratic church organization founded by your followers based on medieval European social and political structures..."
This could go on for ever...
