Why did god create...

Man, I knew that there would be snide comments by the atheistic side towards the religious side. I knew it, because it's all just one big joke, right?

There are those who enjoy a good, polite debate, but almost all of us get a kick out of making rude zingers on the snide--errrr, SIDE. Sorry.

I would have said condemning finite beings to infinite, eternal torture - even specifically creating a place of such horror for that purpose - would be closer to the mark. Maybe that's just me.

I agree, pretty much completely.

Any topic discussed gets snide remarks. Religion is no different. And rightfully so.

I lament that these sorts of things tend to become entirely snide remarks, though.

Well, yeah, it is a shame people get very offensive and defensive about it.

Not entirely snide remarks though. That's a bit cynical. Just about as many as lets say, Global Warming, any election related debate, threads about smoking, racism, Europe vs US, Iraq, Taxes and quite a few others.

Darkess is the absence of light, not the opposite of it.
Silence is the absence of noise, not the opposite of it.
Black is the absence of colour, not the opposite of it.
Evil is the absence of good, not the opposite of it.

One cannot create an absence of something.

so it is a good deed if i dont kill a random passerby?

How about Good is the Absence of Evil? So killing a random passerby is evil. Not extending help when required is also evil...

My favorite thing about a God that defies logic is that he can exist, not exist and sauté all at the same time!

But one could create so much good that nowhere is ever lacking. Why didn't God do that?

Some would ask, how could a perfect God create a Universe filled with so much that is evil. They have missed a greater conumdrum: why would a perfect God create a Universe at all?

Because God loves all those who do nothing productive and sing Help me God.
And which is the best way to help them ? By creating sickness and death he has lead us into the hands of the Religous authorities . But lately it seems that God has forsaken us , as he created science which even defies HIM. That sin would simply be countered by a great flood/nuclear war/Meteorite killing those evil scientists that defy the good religion which is the reason for sin and evil.
