Why do you play C2C?

I started playing C2C after the huge disappointment that was Civ 5. Having been playing Civ since its very beginnings I really couldn't believe what they had done and just how much they dumbed the game down. C2C has taken Civ4 and added layers and layers of strategy, complexity and depth. Love the huge amount of decisions needed in every turn, the massive array of buildings, units and techs and the all the additional features such as crime. No other game can compete with the shear level of involvement and immersion that C2C provides.

I also like and appreciate the dedication, effort and tenacity of all you modders that have created this masterpiece and who continually strive to make it better. I suspect that there are a good few of us out there who are not that involved with forums who enjoy the work you all have done.

Because its not a game anymore: its an life changing experience ( however, if the turns could go faster, our computers good enough to handle ultra-gigantic maps and the each AI unique and as smart as us.....but only God can make this....)

To tell you the truth, despite loving Civ, if someone could develop a C2C in a game like EU3 ( or any Grand Strategy games) that would be the ultimate sh*t

There is one simple reason to play c2c: There is so much to do! So many buildings, techs, units etc. I can barley play other civ IV mods any more, they seem so empty. I also like that there is so much new stuff added with every version, if one skips a few versions it is like a new game when you come back.

I have been playing C2C since at least V6, I know this because on doing some clean up I found the old V6 mod still on my computer.

Alot of the content that I wished was part of Civ 4 is included, one of which is Divine Prophets. The array of options on game setup allows you to tailor your game more to your liking. Maintaining your nation is more of a challenge, so you're not only battling other nations on the map, but your own cities to keep them happy, healthy and law abiding.

I get bored playing single player games so I wish the game was more compatable with multiplayer games on Lan or IP connections.

Did you save the v6 Whisperr?

I was hoping for a copy of v6. I lost all the versions prior to v11 with an HD crash 2 years ago.

Which ones do you need, i can probably look into what i have on my old PC next week sometime . . MAYBE?????

Was there a v6 for C2C? The oldest I can find is C2C v7 but before that I had NWA 9.1, 9.2 and 9.3. As well as all the HAND mods. I also have HydroC2C01 to HydroC2C17h which if you recall is what happened before we had the SVN which mean I had a separate version that SO and DH and it was only when combined that we had a full mod.

I also have old RoM/AND mods. However its hard to remember which matches which with mod and then which HAND mod matches with those. I am so glad we have all the SVN stuff now.

I am looking for a python file called Terrain_Addon, can you do a search of your stuff and see if you can find it thx.

Which mod range are we looking at? most of my backups are compressed so I would have to unpack them to look. Are we talking NWA or later?

No you dont have to UN-compress them, grepWin can look at ALL files and then locate them

I enjoy games that allow me to build something from the 'ground up', but so far C2C has been the only game overall that allows me to have SO many options.

I do enjoy my other strategy games, hell I'm looking forward to an expansion and a release... but I always come back to C2C.
I've been playing it for a while, I think I lurked around longer... but probably since v18?
Before that I was playing, AND.

because it is my dream mod come true. I get to play a mod that is like call to power(one of my favorite games of all time) except that it is better and it is better then the future mod in my opinion. I like that there is a future age where you will be able to have sea cities and a galactic age where you expand out into the solar system and into the galaxy with a possibility of having alien rivals witch is something I always wanted. I Remember when I first beat call to power as a kid and thought that I was going to be able to expand my civ into the galaxy and have alien's to play against only to find out after I hit continue playing that it wasn't the case, i was disappointed:(. I admit though that if this game were to not have sea cities, future age and the multi-map I would never have bothered with it. like someone here said, without the cosmos part, this mod wouldn't be caveman to cosmos.

Ah. I...have to confess that I've not actually played C2C, though I find it very interesting. I just dislike playing an unfinished 'product', and would prefer to wait until it's ready(ish, I realise that it'll probably never be declared 'finished'). As to why I want to play, and why I enjoy playing similar mods (AND, for instance) is the fact that I can play a game like Civilisation, making the same type of tactical decisions, and be able to continue playing in the same world, benefiting from successes and being harmed by mistakes, for as long as possible.

I don't want to actually start C2C, though, until the game progression is sorted out and the later eras are done. Otherwise I think it would rather go against my reasons for using the mod in the first place :)

@pi4t,
Your post reminds me of an old 1930's movie were a young boy looks thru a toy store front window and drools over that New Shiny Red Wagon. He wants it bad.

JosEPh ;)
