Why does it say "Lowest player will be cut in 100 turns?" NOT playing Final Five.

yeah, title says it all. i am NOT playing high to low. these are my setitngs:

Victories:

Conquest
Tower
Alter
Time
Religious

Options:

No tribal villages
No tech brokering
Compact enforced
Living World
No Duin
No Ortheus

Difficulty- monarch.

Speed - Epic
Era - Classical
Map - Erebus

everything else "normal"
civ - random. (not random leader/civs but i don't care who i play as, so i just click GO)

---

If it helps, i was in FF but i used "Advanced" "Load a Mod" from the menu to regular civ. (ok, to load FFH, which to me, is regular civ.)

Edit - i rebooted my comp and it still does it.

You must have enabled the "final five" option, where every xxx turns the lowest player gets cut away, until only the best five remain.

Going to sound like a stupid question, but you aren't playing the Barbarian Assault scenario, are you? Otherwise, I'm at a loss...that should only come up with Final Five.

If you didn't intend to play Final Five, perhaps you selected it accidentally.

You can check in the game to see if it is set by looking on the "Settings" tab of the "Victory Conditions" window (F8). Under the "Options" section it will say "Challenge- Final Five".

If you check and it is not turned on then perhaps you can post a save of the game.

Edit: I seem to remember reading about a problem where options selected in one mod cause different options to be selected in another mod, because the game only remembers which option number was selected and different mods have different options in any given number position. I think that FfH2 has been designed not to remember your game options specifically to eliminate this problem, but I think I recall reading posts in which people discussed disabling that safety feature. If you've done that, then maybe an option you had selected while playing FF was in the position of the "Final Five" option in FfH2.

I reiterate - i am NOT using final 5, i restarted 8 games and i know what my options are on.

and im not playing a scenario - i probably will though once i know how to use more civs in more situations.

but as an update, instead of loading a CUSTOM game i loaded a regular one (which resets all custom options, btw) and then i reloaded another custom and re-selected my options and it worked!

so my problem is solved, but to make sure it isn't just me a bug-tester should load Fall Further - then enter the advanced menu and load a mod, choose FFH and see if it gives you the same that it did me.

if so, a small bug may have been uncovered and if so its not difficult to reset the custom options by entering a normal game.

if you mods wish, close this thread as it no longer needs to be taking up space.

have you played the Fall of Cuantine Scenario recently?

You played a scenario, or looked at the button funny. Now the scenario options are automatically checked, but the interesting part is you cant see them on the custom game screen. Click on the victory conditions icon and go to settings to confirm. I think the way to fix this is to go to PLAY NOW!, and start a game (maybe play 1 turn just to be on the safe side) and then customize a new game.

Edit: oh lol nevermind

nope - i haven't played a single FFH scenario - however i DID play fall further, and try to load vanilla FFH 2 from the context menu (advanced/load a mod/fall from heaven 2).

yes, your halfway right. i think it acted up because i changed from fall further to vanilla ffh through the context menu.

however - your solution of "Play Now!" does work. for some reason it SHOWS the options the way i had them set - but didn't work of course.

I had this same problem while playing Orbis. Then I noticed that though it said lowest player will be kicked in 100 turns, it never counted down. Then turn 100 rolled around, no one was kicked (least, I didn't see the "this civ has died" box appear). I continued playing assuming it was just a graphical glitch.

I wish there was a button to click in main menu that clears all saved game options, starting a play now! game every time is annoying. Not much of an issue in Erebusverse, I play Orbis almost exclusively, but switching between Orbis and RoM is a pain.
