Contraception prevents babies from being produced when they otherwise would be. So does abstinence. Contraception can be used as part of pre-marital sex, which some view as immoral, sure, but is it immoral if it's used by a married couple that otherwise just wouldn't have sex?

because of people's puritan background that says sex is a horrible awful sinful thing that you should save for someone you love. Then once you're married to that someone then you can have sex, but only if it's missionary possition with the lights out, when you're trying to populate god's earth, and only if you don't really enjoy it.:lol:

Because it is a Meme with very high fitness. If you want to create more people of your faith then it is best to have them reproduce like crazy and making contraception immoral works nicely.

So many non-religious people don't understand what religious people really think about sex. I am not sure how common birth control used to be, so I don't know how much it could be a factor in population dynamuics; at any rate, my religion has never opposed contraceptives, and a lot of others haven't as well.

Man = Woman + Satan's Toolbelt
No no no!

According to Christian Theology women are the tools of Satan, I mean who tempted Adam with the apple?

Sex is only made for the purpouse of procreation. Contraception places a barrier between the couple and God. Nothing to do with the woman being the tool of satan.

Its because of a little thing known as a double standard.

If it didn't, people probably wouldn't have kids.
I bet they would if they knew that's how you get them.

That was my point, wasn't it?
No. People want kids, people would probably do what it takes to get kids. I mean people do stuff like IVF all the time, and that's not too fun.

People would still have kids if sex wasn't fun.

So then, why is sex fun?

Well if sex didn't feel good would women go through childbirth?

Same reason women undergo IVF, because they want to have kids.

Sex feels good because of the evolutionary process. Back in the day before we were just wee monkeys Darwin made sex feel good so animals would pro create.
