will not run on windows xp 64 edition

ive recently upgraded to windows xp 64 now the game will not run, it loads up ok then freezes and the only way to get out of it is to reset my pc

I am having a similar problem - I just upgraded to XP 64bit and cannot get CIV to run at all.

However, we seem to be the exception, not the rule. Several others have it running fine:
