will wonders be exclusive just like previous civs?

Many is the time in Civ V I was going to finish a wonder the very next turn and as soon as I hit the "next turn" button, BAM, the AI somewhere finished it first.
I lost the wonder race so often by a single turn, it can't be coincidence!

It's not, the AI seems to know when you begin your builds...especially in your capital if you have exchanged embassies.
I'm not too proud to admit that I'd sometimes roll back to an earlier save and would finesse hammers to accelerate monthly production, until I had enough coming in to beat the AI by at least one turn.
