In FFVII, it took me around 30 minutes to kill the Omega weapon. In FFX, it took me less than 1 minute to overkill it. :D All I did was summon Magus Sister and used their Delta Attack to deal 99,999 damage.

Those monsters in the Arena Coquests are so much tougher than the wimpy Omega!

Have you messed with all those monsters in there?! I only killed like two or three to get items I needed... I always planned on going back and defeating each arena monster at least once, but never have. Yah, Omega was a letdown. I just did 2 hits and it was over. Of course, the ending of Jecht and the Aeons was too easy also. Essentially one hit an Aeon, and 2 or 3 hits on Jecht. I think they put all the hardness in winning the chocobo race from what I hear... Of course, I won it on like my 6th try so maybe I got lucky? :crazyeye: Butterflies... Now that was a pain to get done.

Say, a little off topic maybe with the Yuna pic thread, but what about Rikku's side story game? If Yuna looks like that now... Rikku was my bada$$ character in FFX, better even than Auron...

No, haven't messed with most of them yet... Yesterday I managed to defeat Earth Eater and Catastrophe in the original creatures area. The creatures in their are really tough!!

Wow! You must really like Rikku. :D

I heard both FFX side stories revolve around saving Tidus...

Will they be WHOLE games? Like new battle system, 40 - 70 hours gameplay? Or are they more like expansion packs? I have not heard much on these at all... Even if they stuck with the same battle system and sphere grid, graphics alone would take a lot of work... Unless a lot of what we already saw is used again... Hey, FF is FF. I'd buy at least the Rikku game... :mischief:

Surely you mean ff8. There is no Omega Weapon in ff7. The weapons in ff7 are Ultimate, Diamond, Emerald, and Ruby. No Omega. Course, I haven't fought Omega(yet), but I do know its around somewhere in ff8.

Damn I wish I had a ps2 so I could play ffx. :( Hired it and a ps2 out once, did not turn the ps2 off for 24 hours.

I mean the underwater weapon in FFVII, whatever it's called. :D

BTW the Ultimate Weapon in FFX is even more wimpy than Omega... :crazyeye:

I doubt it. It prolly will use the same system as FFX, just with new creatures, a new world, and a new story.

I think those 2 expansions are planned before FFX was released. That's why they made the FFX ending so open ended...

ah, you mean Emerald then.

My vote for wimpiest weapon goes to Ultimate in ff7! It was just pathetic.

An update on my FFX game:

I managed to maximize power of ultimate weapons for all my characters except those that need to acquire sigil from mini-games:

Wakka (blitz game), Tidus (Chocobo), and Kimalri (butterfly)

Those mini-games are sooooooooooooooo annoying and stupid!!:mad::mad:

But the chocobo was soooo easy! :mischief: Butterflies is just knowing the path. It pissed me off, especially the second screen. And the blitz game was no big. I kinda liked it for a while but once I got the Jupiter sigil, I saw no reason to keep playing.

That's on thing I kind of don't like though with the new generation of rpg's... Mini games which are not NECESSARY to play to finish the game are so difficult and time consuming, whereas battles are too easy. Honestly, how many times did you die in a battle as opposed to how many times you swore and contemplated smashing the controller? As stated, Ultima and Omega should have been MUCH harder. Final bosses should be much harder. Ah well.

I went back and continued my game. Gotten around to getting all the aeons (the Magus sisters are really funny-looking  ) and also completely unsealing the legendary weopans for Yuna, Rikku and Auron (easy). But only managed to avoid lightning up to 130+ times. Frustrating...... The more I play, the more numb my thumb feels.

Didn't try yet for the chocobo race. And I hate blitzball....

Do you guys go for the break HP limit thing in your armor? Seems that wings of discovery are hard to get. I tried shinryu once and got a rude shock awakening....

Some advice for the dodging lighting game:

It's a good idea to divide it into 4 sessions (50 times per session). Afer you dodge 50 times, pause the game, take a few minute break, then unpause it and pretend you are doing it from the beginning. This is alot easier than dodging 200 times continuously.

No, I don't have any break HP limit for my characters yet. That Shinryu monster is tough and bribing (Great) Malboros is damn expensive!

Yeah, I was planning on doing that. Going for 200 times at one shot is humanly impossible I think.

I tried once, the shinryu. Attked once with Rikku and was counterattked with dmg of more than 10k.... Then it used eraser (the group stone and splintering thing) and killed the other two.....

I got 297 on lightning when I finally did it. I just sat there and did it and finally I stopped figuring I HAD to have enough. Thank goodness I did.

Wings of Discovery... I think you can get 99 of them at some point for capturing monsters, no? And the little chocobo race also maybe? GameFAQS has god info on that stuff, items and such that are rare... I was trying for armor for each character with Auto-Haste, Auto-Protect, Break HP Limit, and fourth undecided, but I was still missing 3 pieces of armor with 4 empty slots...

You can buy armor with 4 empty slots fr that trader guy at the entrance to the unsealing woods (where to unseal legendary weopans; forgotten the name of the locale) for 100k each. Although apparently you need to have loaned or donated money to the guy (Okka) prior to this... Being stingy aren't we?

Nope, DL lots of FAQs, no prizes for 99 wings of discovery. Have to do it the hard way.... either take on shinryu, or buy fr marlboros for 500k+ for 4 of them.

For 4th slot, aren't you going for auto-shell? I thought that always go with auto-protect.....

I GOT IT! I GOT THE VENUS SIGIL! :D Now that wasn't so tough; just need to find the correct 'spot'. And lots of concentration.

Tried the chocobo race; managed to beat trainer in last race but could never gotten less than 20 secs..... Blah. Gonna customized some break dmg weopans for them; anyways my heavyweight assault team are Rikku, Yuna, Auron, Lulu - no need for the likes of Tidus, Wakka or Kilmahri...... :p

I suppose I shall experience the great fustration of the chocobo races when I get ffx. Got a ps2 last week :D, now I need to save for ffx.

You mean he will not sell the weapons if you didn't donate money to Oaka early in the game?! I'm glad I donated like 100 Gil to him at Luca then... :D

Yup, according to one of the FAQs I DL. ;) So did I, donating a smallish sum early in the game just to see what'll happen. Apparently the more you have donated, the bigger the discount you'll get later on....

To get max discount, you have to donate A LOT of cash as in more than you ever have without sitting around fighting battles for money. I'm talkin thousands and thousands. It works in incrememnts. Apparently, he sells stuff to you at like double, after the COMBINED money of what you spend on his stuff and what you donate to him reaches a certain level, it drops to like 150% normal prices, and so on and so forth until eventually his stuff will cost like 75% normal price... I apparently did not spend/give enough cash as he is no longer in the damn woods. I knew he had the armor, but he is not there anymore. Oh well. I'm done until the Yuna Croft sequel comes out. I still prefer my Christina Aguileraesque Rikku though. :D
