This has been known since around the time Vista was released. They're probably gearing up on Windows 8 by now as well, or at least putting it on the roadmap.

Everything I see about Windows 7 just tells me that it's "yet another patch" for Windows NT.

Let's hope Windows 7, on launch, supports older systems/slower components, doesn't have any stupid copyright protection BS, isn't bloated, natively supports 64-bit, and is stable from the beginning. After that, Bill Gates will give away all his money, and Jesus will come down from heaven and give us all candy.
