[R&F] Wonder movie - Kilwa Kisiwani

I wonder what their reference was for this? It's called Kilwa Kisiwani, but I imagine it's more correct to call it Husuni Kubwa, which was a coastal palace/fort in Kilwa Kisiwani. Based off the reconstructions I can find off a Google image search, this doesn't resemble Husuni Kubwa very much.

I didn't even notice the smaller tower had a dock too.

You are right but then we have Great Zimbabwe with no Zimbabwe and Kilwa Kisiwani with no Kilwa?

Yeah, I'm hoping so since there are other African Civilizations with better known leaders (like one of the West African coastal kingdoms, Madagascar, etc).
If they (Zimbabwe and Kilwa) are added to the game, it could mean Ethiopia and Mali aren't returning.

If Kilwa does get added, it might bode poorly for the Maya but well for the Inca (as Chicken Itza is in the game already but not Machu Picchu).

They'd also make Ethopia more unlikely imho as I assume they'd want to spread out their African Civs a tad bit more (I'd actually be surprised with Kilwa in that respect as well - not that it stopped them with Nubia, or Macedon for that matter).

Of course I might as well be just throwing some chicken bones at this point. Maybe we should go back to trying to guess based on what holidays are upcoming :)

I don't think it indicates one way or the other. The only time we've had absolute positive correlation was with the DLCs, because the civs are the themes and the Wonders are a part of those. And we've not had a negative correlation before.

That would be a shame because West African history is fascinating and full of a great pool of leaders

Mystery solved! Although they got the name wrong (should be Husuni Kubwa), but this is Firaxis so what did I honestly expect? (FIRAXIS THERE'S STILL TIME TO FIX THIS!!!) But hey, at least it looks good. I especially appreciate the accuracy to the ruins of the site of present day.

Whether this means we're going to get a Kilwa/Swahili civilisation, I'm not convinced. Yes, it could be an indication and does make sense to package it with its respected civiilisation, but on the other hand, this might be Firaxis' way of acknowledging the civilisation without actually having to implement it, e.g. Chichen Itza, Great Zimbabwe, Potala Palace.

I'd imagine we'd get at least 1 civ from each of the 5 major continents at the very least. I'm banking on only 1 from North American and South America which means Africa could indeed get two.

The fact that most of the new wonders are associated with civs already in the game makes me think that at least one of the new civs is being hinted at by the other likely wonders (this one, the Chateau Frontenac, early builds of the temple of Artemis).

Maybe the name indicates that they are collecting several sites together? The wikipedia pages mentions three distinct sites a palace, a mosque, and then another potential mosque.

OMG we did not need to wait ten weeks to figure this one out. Thank you, Firaxis gods.

So will they still have Sean Bean reading stuff?

Shockingly enough, Sean Bean hasn't died yet, so I don't see why they wouldn't have him narrate again?

Very likely since he participated as character in the Trailer, too. I'd be surprised otherwise...
The wonder is cool. I'd like a swahili civ, but I don't think there's an automatism around...
