Wordle

You probably shouldn't repeat green letters until you have only a few possible words remaining (or you are feeling very lucky). Threre is no information you will gain from that and you are wasting spots where you could get yellow letters.

Mine was hard mode too.

Has anyone tried chessle? Yes, you guess openings! ;-)

https://jackli.gg/chessle/

I've done 2 now, and I think this will be a new daily activity for me - it seems to make the openings stick in my head a bit better. I'm the kind of chess player that knows the names of a lot of openings but can't claim to understand/remember them well except in a general sense. So I know the kind of moves that show up early in both Queen's pawn and king's pawn games, but not to the point that it greatly improves my playing. Don't play much anymore except to encourage my kid and his friends. But always loved the game.

Yeah, I mostly play online games with a 3 to 7 days of thinking time, fits best into my day. Not really savant about the openings, as todays puzzle has shown me. That last move reminded me of the wordle puzzles where just one letter is missing.

I nevertheless think I'm gonna try the 6-moves one tomorrow :)

Today's word was hard for me. I missed the 3rd letter, and by internally mis-pronouncing the combo of the rest I totally missed what the 3rd could be. Luckily there's only one valid word which you can make from the other 4, so I got it at the end .

It took me a while to get the third letter, too. I think I need to be more systematic about looking at possibilities when I'm down to one missing letter. I had trouble getting the third letter in ROBIN a while back, too. I maybe need to write out the possibilities, since my brain doesn't want to consider different pronunciations of the letters I have (not the issue today, but it was for robin).

My first guess got me zero letters today, so it was my first word in Absurdle, which took 12 words today.

I was stuck on the 2nd letter ... or knew I would be.

My fifth word was

Got both wordle and chessle in 4. Somewhat lucky, though first guess in chessle was completely gray.

relatively early on, and I didn't discover it until about 10 words in, after a lot of frustration and takebacks of the last word. I had to remove at least half a dozen guesses before getting back to more options. I ended up googling "five letter word ends in [the last letter]" to find some guesses that it would take to tell me the last letter was wrong. Then, of course, I thought of several others and felt stupid. I did finally make it to the correct word, though.

Wordle in three :smug:
Me too :smug:

I picked my starter on a whim, and was lucky enough that it gave me 3 letters present, with (the) 2 vowels already correctly placed.
Spoiler Who's a jammy b****** then? Yes, you are! :

I started trying chessle on expert mode (5 moves instead of 3). Took me only 2 tries to get the first three moves right, but then another 4 to get the next 2 (though my 5th guess was the right 4th and 5th moves but in the wrong order)

Spoiler :
I got the HOTE and the location of the T with my first two guesses, figured the H was after the T, and that "OTHE_" was then the only thing that made sense, so it had to be other
