Yup. The letter distribution is different in common usage v vocab. T is the second most common letter in usage but the 6th most common in vocab and, apparently the forth most common in the wordle vocab.

Eg in the US silicone sealant would be caulk in the generic sense. In the UK decorators caulk in the specific would be the first definition.

Yes, this has a different word for "Today's word" than https://www.nytimes.com/games/wordle/index.html does.

I got the NYTimes wordle word as the answer to absurdle in 10 tries today, my shortest yet. I had a few takebacks, through.

hellowordl.net has both a "Today's Word" and a "Random" puzzle. When I went there, it defaulted to the random puzzle, but when I picked "Today's Word" I got warpus's word.

I did it fairly quickly, entering a word as soon as I though of one that fit the clues. Other words I could have tried in guess #2 would be shale, spate, shape, shade, stave, stake, slate, snake, slake ......probably more! Still, I think 6 guesses is maybe *just* enough to sort all those out and get the right answer. But so much for getting it quick with 3 greens in my first guess!

You probably shouldn't repeat green letters until you have only a few possible words remaining (or you are feeling very lucky). Threre is no information you will gain from that and you are wasting spots where you could get yellow letters.
