Wordle

Oh yes, the standard wordle can be easily won with words like ‘tears’ or ‘reams’ or ‘manes’ to get rid of some of the most common letters in one go.

Didn't get it today, was close :(.
Quordle worked well though.
Spoiler :
Although I'd nearly have gone with BUFFY as last guess, but the considered that a name is unlikley, so went with BUGGY (after having ruled out L and N already).

Yeah, today's effort was a bit different.
Spoiler :

Obviously 0+1 with tears then nothing more on second, L on the right spot so 1+1 after 3rd but lack of imagination gave me allow on the 4th. Unlike yesterday I didn't need a dictionary to know what the solution meant. Hurraah, improvement.

So far I've had fairly consistent luck with 4/5 on 4th and once on 3rd.

Today's Wordle took me maybe 1 more than it should have (again)...
Spoiler Sunday, March 21st :
R A T E S
R O D E O
R I P E N
Spoiler :
R E N E W
And Quordle took 8, because I initially chose the wrong option for the 3rd word:

A boring/easy starter, followed by a lucky second guess, gave me both yesterday's and today's Wordles in three

Quordle-results were 4/5/7/8 and 4/5/6/7, respectively. Bored now.

I'd start doing Absurdle instead, but if I understood its rules correctly, then the 'solution' is basically determined by my guesses (i.e. the same set of guesses in the same order, will always produce the same result), so I'm not sure I see the point...?

The point of absurdle, for me, is to force the game into picking the word you choose. That is, not to get it to pick a word, but to get it to pick my word.

Today I was happy because I made no stupid (i.e., already proven wrong) guesses for wordle, quordle, octordle, and Qwordle, and I got Qwordle in 4. 3 letter gatherers gave me 8 letters, and then I correctly figured out both words, after catching two stupid guesses before I entered them.

Opened today on "Armor" because yolo.

Instead of adding the other games, I'm progressively worsening my first two guesses.

Approaching 50 games now, desperately trying to get my "par" (largest bar of my successes) from 4 guesses down to 3. The 4's are winning by one. Since after the first week I've been playing on hard mode, I've slowly learned NOT to open with TEARS and such because its better to eliminate more uncommon letters while I still have free squares.

I've managed to guess in 2 twice, but the only game I remember other than today's is the one that turned out to be a sort of found poem, from a few weeks ago (not a spoiler)

Today's, alas, was not so pleasing, whether looking for results or poetry:

Just to mix it up a little, I used @El_Machinae's favourite "KAPOW" as my Wordle starter today — and got the solution in three again

Quordle result was 4/5/6/8.

My starters and second solution gave me 4/5 letters for the last word, with 2 correctly placed: there were at least 2 possible solutions (3 if the word-list includes proper nouns), and my 7th guess was wrong...

Managed it in 3:

Spoiler :
S T O N E
E P O C H

E P O X Y

Was kind of reluctant to make that third guess on the basis of "should I really be guessing an X this early" but I literally couldn't think of another five-letter word that started EPO, so I figured I might as well try it.

Well Sunday was a WTH moment.

WTH, no vowels?

Got it in 4, but it gave me a moment

Yeah, today's was nasty. I needed 4 guesses (Hard mode)

Think you forgot the "/sarcasm" tag there! ;)

I failed today. Solving this kind of word on Hard Mode is always a matter of luck, and in this case I ran out of guesses before I ran out of possible candidates

Got it in 4, but also clicked on Grendeldef's spoiler yesterday because I didn't see the "Monday 28th" thing before I opened it because well, I didn't expect anyone to post Monday's Wordle that early!

So I kinda knew what the last four letters were (but didn't see or at least didn't remember the first one) and just tried to solve it as if I didn't know what it was already, but guessed the right first letter on my first attempt after "finding" the other four.

I was as surprised when I learned that the Wordle changes the date when the comp changes it hence with UTC+2 I'm 7hrs ahead of east coast US. I also usually do it right after midnight and that's why I also used Monday instead of a plain date. Not good enough of an effort, though.
