Given the year is coming to a close (well, it will end in 1,5 months), maybe this question can be asked along with the rest...

It's not like there was a shortage of horrible news... I think that chinese 5-year old who was robbed of his eyes was from 2014...

News stories are generally bad.

But this one has stuck in my memory.

I mean, running someone over (someone you don't know, but who just happens to be serving in the army - not that not knowing them makes it any better or worse), and then going to the trouble of beheading them while talking to passersby and being covered in blood seems to be memorable.

What did the perpetrators hope to achieve? I've still no idea.
