Worst game ever. Seriously!

Yes, it's called the "Rom Pit" where they rate the worst of the worst NES games that we used to play. They are very accurate in describing the horror of such games and you and forgive the excessive cursing because they [the reviews] are drop-dead funny.

Ybbor--that was awesome. Sharp graphics, realistic sound, addictive gameplay.

That's a definite "10" there!

Worst games I remember are Armored Moon, Mode, and Extreme Paintbrawl might be the paintball game Azale is trying to think of. I think Mode was the only one to actually get a zero, but all three of these received, from PC Gamer, the thoroughly brutal "CD can be used as a decorative coaster" description as the only positive thing about these games.

Edit: no, I never actually played any of those three. :)

You obviously never played "Rise of the Robots". It was hyped in pre-release as the best fighting game ever, but when it came out it was immediately evident that it was the worst. Those boxing nun puppets were more fun.

Note: don't get this confused with "One must fall, 2097," which was actually fun.

Strangely, I'm one of the few people who didn't dislike Armored Moon. I must admit the sound was so poor, that I had to turn up my speakers. At the end of playing it, I noticed my ears were numb.

I thought Shadow Vault was just godawful.

The worst game, however, would probably have to go to RadWarrior.

The worst game I played that was actually polished and finished was Max Payne. There is no reason whatsoever to "play" Max Payne.

hmm.....i'd have to say one of the worst is Sim Earth, Big Rigs, and X-Treme PaintBrawl

What!?! SimEarth was awesome.

Of course, at the time I had one of the cheapest windows 95s money couldn't buy...

Yeah I remember Moonwalker on C=64...

Some other games I remember playing on the Commodore 64 are beyond description when it comes to terrible, but yet again some of the simplest graphics games were addictive (eg Jumpman, Beach Head, Raid Over Moscow, Shamus, Summer Games etc...). Gayest game I played on C=64 was Mellon is Thirsty an adventure game for kids...

Worst Amiga game was Mousetrap and several public domain/shareware games they used to give away on Fish Disks (monthly public domain disk for amiga were many gems on them too, someone has probably made an entry for them on Wikipedia...) Dogs of war was crappy but addictive...

As for PC, well Im choosey what I play, can usually spot a lemon when I see it on the shelf. I will read the Big Rigs review for a laugh...

There's some crap games on Xbox and PS2 I've played as well like Narc and this shoot em up one set in the future with a game engine similar to Medal of Honour but harder to control (that was a waste of money hiring from the video store...).

These are noble efforts, but the worst game ever has not been so much as mentioned in passing in this thread.
The worst game ever is, of course, Final Fantasy X. Why? Because Final Fantasy X is directly responsible not only for itself, but also for X-2 - and Final Fantasy 7-2: Dirge of Cerberus. It is also indirectly responsible for Final Fantasies 11&12.

Deadly Towers was pretty bad.
I remember feeling very cheated when I rented that game for the NES! It sucked much arse.
