1. Again, Mac OS is my primary OS, I hardly see how that makes me a Microsoft fanboy.

2. The failure of New Coke was that focus testing were too short term and didn't provide enough exposure to the product. That is exactly the opposite situation from Windows 8 - it performs very well in focus testing and in consumer satisfaction after the initial learning curve.

Windows 8 will fail because of negative press it got. More people pay attention to sources like FoxNews and CNN then the ones you mentioned.

Most people get a new OS with new computers, positive or negative press is nearly irrelevant to the success of Windows in the short term.

And I see you've given up even calling the OS bad, probably because you can't point to anything it doesn't do as well as Windows 7.

Well a lot of people don't like the new UI. Would not surprise me if a lot of people who got Windows 8 on there computers downgraded to Windows 7.

Only very marginally, you just switch the secure boot setting in the BIOS to off. If anyone can't do that, they're probably going to fail miserably at using Linux anyway.

Almost only people who haven't used the new UI don't like it, the number of people who downgrade their OS is negligible, and MS doesn't care if you downgrade your OS, they're still making Win8 sales.
