Would Israel use nukes ?

With the story in the news that the Israeli air force is practicing for a strike a strike against
the Iranian nuclear facilities, I wonder if the Israelis will use nukes.
But, what is to stop either China or Russia selling Iran all the uranium they need ?
Would the USA get into a nuke throwing contest to protect Israel from Iran having nukes ?
And if Pakistan supply Iran, what then ?

I can only see Israel resorting to nukes if she is invaded, and clearly losing the war. The Israelis will get no quarter from an Arab invader, so if they're going down, every Arab city in range is going down, too.

I do not see Israel using its nuclear weapons offensively, though. They primarily serve as a deterrent to its neighbors.

The expected attack on Iran can easily be done with conventional weapons. They did it to the Osirak reactor in Iraq in the early 80s. Using a nuke would officially announce that Israel has them, which I don't think they're ready to do. Plus there's always that <1% chance that they really don't have any, and have let the rumors spread as a deterrent against invasion.

If there's one overriding moral to be gleaned from the past sixty years of Mideast history, it's "Don't mess with the Jews."

Yes, I think Israel would use them. Not lightly or without cause, but to prevent or retaliate against a nuclear strike, or if she was in danger of being destroyed some other way, I really think Israel would. And I can't say I'd blame her for using nukes under those circumstances.

Well some 'Military Experts' claim you would need a very low yield nuclear weapon bunker buster type, to destroy some of the facilities they have deep deep underground, with dozens of feet of concerete..

Didn't Israel do a covert airstrike+military operation in Syria in January or something?

Only if threatened with imminent destruction. If they were to use them preemptively, whatever lingering sympathy towards them that exists in Europe would disappear overnight and even politicians would have an impossible job publicly supporting them. It would likely be the first step towards the end of the Israeli state, as it would be just a matter of time before a Muslim state reciprocated, and lets face it, Israel could really only take a couple of nuclear strikes before it wouldnt exist anymore.

It is not like bombing Iraq's facility. Some of Iran's facilities are underground and well fortified.

It's obvious Israel has a plan for the Iranian facilities, and it's obvious Israel is "testing out" such a plan.
Iran is seen as the number one strategic threat to Israel, so it would be silly to think Israel doesn't think about bombing those reactors and sites.
Will we do it? No one knows. It is a completely different story from Iraq and Syria - it is far, it is deep underground (mostly), and it is dispersed. It's still possible to go through with a bombing, but such a bombing might only slow it down temporarily, only to see Iran not letting go of the plan and having a better reason to develop it.

I can't see Israel using nukes even if invaded. I can only see them using nukes if.

1. Someone nukes them 1st or launhes 1st.
2. Invaded and on the verge of defeat.
I'm no massive fan of Israel but some of the responses here are just stupid.
