Would you like 4UC modmod to be integrated to the VP?

The work and stability of a mod moving from 4UC down to 2UC is not in the same zip code as adding new stuff, and anyone saying otherwise is lying through their teeth.

At this point I have lost patience with this false equivalence being made. It minimizes the hours upon hours I have put into maintaining the 4UC mod.
If you mean me, I'm sorry, I'm dumb and for some reason didn't even consider the possibility that removal of the extra UCs would be made into a modmod. In that case it is indeed much easier for the modders and equally easy for the players.

There is one question I shoud have asked before, but didn't get around to. One of the reason I didn't play 4UC in the past, was in the few times I did, although it made the game more interesting in the various extra abilitiies a civ might have, it also made the game go along quicker.

Can someone say how this mod intergrated will effect the game, in particular will games become shorter due to the extra skills bringing all civs more bonuses. It stands to reason the more bonuses civs get the more powerful they become & easier to advance through the ages. I would be very interested how the modders have taken this into account.

The stats seem to indicate games are slightly shorter with 4UC, yes. On emperor, the games ended roughly 10 turns sooner. Not a big change, but a change.

By many, including myself, this was interpreted as a positive, because the AI games were ending in time victories more than we would like, meaning the AI couldn’t effectively clinch a win even against other AIs in 500 turns.

Makes sense to me. Ultimately most of the civs are receiving additional yields through their new UCs so that would accelerate the game at bit. I consider a 400 turn game about the ballpark, so 10 turns is like 2.5% for context.

For me, games end considerably sooner with 4UC. I think players can exploit UUs a lot better than the AI. This is my experience from a few dozen games with 4UC over the past months. It may depend on your playstyle.

Issues like this can be solved by increasing the costs of things. DLL integration will also make the AI better able to handle the extra uniques.

The more complexity you add to the game the better humans will do vs a scripted AI. If you have only melee vanilla units the AI would crush you on high difficulties because they would just overwhelm you with their cheating extra yields. I only see a problem when the AI really cant make use of certain mechanics, which hopefully will be less of a problem after integration as recursive is saying
