Nothing much to report in Spain. We continue to be wary of the Portuguese to our west. The Jewish Greeks to our east also have closed borders and refuse to talk to the Queen. In other news, we have learned how to create what we are calling "paper" - essentially leaves and bark and other materials which we refine, allowing us to create markings on them with various soft metals. Now our stories can be shared more than just by spoken word!

An update
doing some posting/emailing tonight in preparation of Retiring from gaming. I do not want to quit "Cold Turkey" because of withdrawals so I'd like to leave this one as one of the last games I'd quit
so If I/we can find a temporary replacement for a few months until I have eye surgery (that is if it comes to that) and I am healed or not, time will tell.
I will post this same message in other games in this same catagory

Yes, I think so!
The Queen's latest project has been completed - a new family tomb, built in Madrid, which will allow the Queen her final resting place, as well as that of all her familial descendants. They were built in a pyramid shape and were large enough to hold an unknown number of descendants in their many glorious halls.
In other news, the Queen has considered giving the people some say in the day to day operations of their own government, through the use of a parliamentary style of government, whereby the people would elect officials. It is unknown whether she will actually allow the people to have this sort of influence on her government. However, the Queen is beloved by the Spanish people throughout the lands (for the most part) so the expectation is it will have minimal impact on the future of Spain itself.

Greetings everyone
I am slowly but surely giving up all of my games or finding temporary replacements for games I don't want to lose such as this.
Sinimusta once again is stepping in for me here, I am not sure what is going to happen but I do know that May 1 I have a follow up appointment and a procedure similar to removing a Cataract and then follow up appointments I'd guess into August.
If or when I return I'll "Write" myself back in this game, Wish me Luck.

In Spain, the Queen has officially decreed that a parliament shall be formed, which will run the operations of the government. Elections were held in 820AD, and the first House of Commons was created. While the Queen still has the ultimate authority on certain matters, most decisions are now at the will of the elected representatives of the people. This allows the Queen to focus on the larger world at hand and how her peoples' decisions can be used for the betterment of the world and the Islamic faith.

The great temple on Parthenon Hill in Lisbon has been completed. A great festival was held that lasted for a week.
People from all over the empire came to marvel at the great building which is source of great pride for the inhabitants.
The Hawklord resided over the inauguration and proclaimed that a day of holiday should be enjoyed every year by the peoples of Portugal to celebrate completion the great building.

Not a lot to report from Spain this turn. We continue to work on multiple large projects to show off the greatness of our civilization.
The empire is torn by revolution and unrest.
A few aristocrats, mainly in rural areas, take up arms demanding that the Hawklords step down from office and slavery is immediately legalised again.
The Hawklords responded with a statement that "The greed of a few country landowners will never stop the emancipation of our fellow men. In our modern age of enlightenment slavery is an evil that we can do without. Troops will be sent to drag these few dissenters in line with the rest of the empire's wishes and the God's wishes."
Both state and church are united in their wish to bring these evil men to heel.

The French nation is shocked by this kind of intolerance towards freedom to own slaves. However, we also recognise the sovereigns freedom to rule their nations as they please.
We feel that slavery is profitable and good not only for the slaveowner but also to the slaves themselves. Our state philosophy supports hierarchy as the basis of civilization. Almighty Creator has deemed some people as natural masters, gifted with noble birth, aristocratic appearance and intelligence, and others as natural slaves, incapable of ruling themselves, but capable of fulfilling simple tasks and thus getting themselves a living from their masters. We recognise it a crime to make a slave out of a natural master and vice versa. Naturally masters do have responsibilities towards loyal slaves aswell. They need to ensure their well-being, safety and good working conditions.
