WW2-Global

I thought of that. Columbia, for example, has only one city so it should be easy to conquer. Here's the problem: I have to traverse the huge Amazon to get there. It will still be many Turns before I have all my inland cities connected by road & would be many more to reach Columbia, Peru or Venezuela. Peru looks least appetizing as it has no roads between it's cities so it would be many more Turns after conquering them before their cities would be helpful.

Colombia, it's Colombia. :king:

Japan - SID difficulty, AI most aggressive, AI Workers enabled, ironman rules (no reloads)

WorldMap5.jpg

Week 22, 1941 - Its apparent that the AI always knows where carriers are, as well as transports, since it bombed a carrier well out of any possible fighter recon range. Germany takes Gomel (Soviet Russia). My battleship group near Australia sunk 1 King George and 2 Lion Class Battleships in port at Townsville. Otsu subs have reached southwestern tip of Africa.
Week 23, 1941 - Took Srinagar (Great Britain-India). ***India has been taken***. Soviet Russia took Teheran (Persia) some time ago, must have overlooked it.
Week 24, 1941 - I have 45 Chi-Ha's, SNLF's, and Infantry heading into Persia (or what remains of Persia) towards Chah Bahar to begin the assault, with a constant flow of reinforcements, and workers are building roads in. Assault is also taking place against Persian city of Kabul further up north. I am gathering forces to take Soviet city of Irkutsk (since I have quite a few units to throw around now), as well as 6000 gold. Soviet Russia retakes Voronezh (Germany).
Week 25, 1941 - Soviet Russia retakes Pskov (Germany). Sunk British Battlecruiser Repulse. Germany does not appear to be doing much, they have under 40 panzers, with 108 Mech Infantry, but I doubt they are using these offensively, they are probably stacked 4 deep in each city. On the other hand, Soviet Russia is not really 'losing' ground, even being at war with the Allies and Axis. They appear to have been grinded down and dont have the sheer weight of forces they did, but they are far from weak. My first Otsu subs are only a few turns away from reaching Spain.
Week 26, 1941 - Took Chah Bahar (Persia). US Colorado Battleship sunk near Kwajalein. I have 53 tanks at Chah Bahar, with about 20 more on the way. I am going to hit the middle east with excessive force and take the Suez. The Otsu's I have stationed there watch as Britain steadily sends through convoy after convoy. If Britain wants to attack me, I am going to force them around Africa. I may go up and take Turkey, in order to assist Germany (which if given proper assistance, may be able to get an upper hand).

Japan is my top producing city at 140 shields/per. Below shows actual shields produced, not wasted.
130+ shields 3 cities
100-129 shields 2 cities
80-99 shields 12 cities
60-79 shields 15 cities
40-59 shields 7 cities
20-39 shields 12 cities
1-19 shields 50 cities
I have 11 cities producing YamatoC's, each city averaging a new one every 12 turns.
Week 27, 1941 - Soviet Russia takes Kabul (Persia) only because I was assaulting Kabul at the same time, and there was only a couple half dead troops left. Took Kabul (Soviet Russia). 9 T34/76's appeared near Rawalpindi and Lahore, and 6 T34/76's appeared near Chah Bahar, each with a KV1. Will engage both with the 70 Type 97 Chi-Ha's in the immediate area if they press the attack. I have destroyed both roads near Soviet city Irkutsk to prevent reinforcements from arriving quickly while I start the assault. Whoa!!! I did air recon of the Soviet city of Kandahar, and there are 84 additional pieces of armor moving in behind the 15 I mentioned above. I will re-base every bomber over to these positions immediately to help with the defense. I don't understand why Russia is not attacking the Ally bases near Turkey??? Instead, they are coming after me! These 99 armor pieces represent over 1/3 of Russias total armored force. hmmmm.... Bringing up the 10 tanks I had protecting India and any other forces I can spare. Perhaps my taking Kabul will redirect these forces up north. I will not go to peace with Soviet Russia unless the Allies do, it is a good way to wear the jaggernaut down. Made peace with Portugal (no point to still be at war with them) for all their gold. Germany, Finland, and Italy sign peace treaty with Portugal. 5 King George V Battleships and 2 Transports (that I have tracked all the way from Africa) are heading up the western Australia coast, and I am waiting with a Yamato Battle Fleet.
Week 28, 1941 - All of the Soviet armor began pulling back, although not sure why. Germany takes Lutsk (Soviet Russia). Took Irkutsk (Soviet Russia).
Week 29, 1941 - Norway-Denmark asked for peace, since Finland is not making any advances against them, accepted for all their gold and 13/turn. Norway-Denmark signs peace treaty with Italy, Finland, and Germany. Took Khorramshahr (Persia). Great Britain has a Comet tank stationed in Kuweit! Thats Land 1944! Almost Impossible! At least they only have 4 of them total. Took Kuweit (Great Britain). I lost 2 Chi-Ha Tanks to take out the Comet, not too bad. 1 thing I've noticed Germany doing is creating way more defensive units than offensive units, probably a ratio of 3:1. I have decided, if Soviet Russia does come after me with it's 100+ armored tank force, I will sign peace treaty just so I can take Suez (to stop Britain from sending all the ships through). This will make Russia go after the Allies, and give the Axis powers upper hand for a little while. A transport made it within range of Kwajalein, lets hope my 4 defenders can hold.
Week 30, 1941 - Soviet Russia retakes Lutsk (Germany). US Battleship Idaho sunk near Kwajalein. Kwajalein successfully defended against US attack. Signed peace treaty with Soviet Russia; and Italy, Germany and Finland did as well. Took Bagdad (Great Britain); lost 6 Chi-Ha's to take out 1 Comet and 1 Matilda. Took Ahvaz (Persia). *** Persia Defeated ***. My first sub has reached close to the Spanish coast. Since I will be able to assault Suez in a several turns, I will redirect subs to go through the canal, but for subs already going around Africa, they can continue. Japan really does not have good enough defensive units to stand against any type of sustained Soviet or British assault.
Week 31, 1941 - Otsu reaches near city of Algiers, Im looking forward to see what type of action is going on in the Mediterranean. The Soviet 100+ tank mass is attempting to move through my new territory of the Middle East. I don't want them right in the middle of my cities, in case 1 of my allies declares war, so I blocked all their paths with troops, which will force them to go up through Turkey. I have brought down 50 bombers to clear the path to Suez, as well as to check Soviet Russia if need be.
My military strength is now registered as strong to Soviet Russia, average to Germany and Great Britain, weak vs US.

Strengths:
Soviet Russia - 285 Armored Units, 620 Infantry, 30 ships/115 subs/13 transports, 32 bombers/199 fighters, 113 workers
Italy - 3 Armored Units, 56 Infantry, 0 ships/0 subs, 0 bombers/7 fighters, 6 workers
Germany - 151 Armored Units, 123 Infantry, 7 ships/4 subs/3 transport, 5 bombers/104 fighters, 14 workers
Great Britain - 121 Armored Units, 414 Infantry, 81 ships/0 subs/19 transports/5 carriers, 18 bombers/120 fighters, 91 workers
France - 5 Armored Units, 78 Infantry, 0 ships/0 subs/1 transport, 6 bombers/0 fighters, 20 workers
US - 505 Armored Units, 502 Infantry, 39 ships/7 carriers/5 transports, 25 bombers/48 fighters, 68 workers
Finland - 9 Armored Units, 48 Infantry, 3 ships/0 transport, 0 bombers/2 fighter, 8 workers
Japan - 94 Armored Units, 295 Infantry, 112 ships/119 subs/16 transports/6 carriers, 58 bombers/101 fighters, 97 workers

Comparison of enemy units killed, japanese units lost

With the japanese air units... I have a comment.

Comparing the Zero (Air 1940) and the Ki-43 (Air 1941).
The stats are exactly the same for both in every aspect, expect the Zero operational range is 8, and the Ki-43 operational range is 5. Since they both cost 130 shields.. there is absolutely no point to ever build the Ki-43, ever. This is somewhat disappointing.

As for general characteristics of these aircraft go:
Zero could carry 2× 60 kg bombs.
Ki-43-II could carry 2x 250 kg bombs.
Perhaps the Ki-43 should have a slightly increased bombing capacitiy, perhaps (12 rate 2) or (16 rate 1), instead of 8. After all some other aircraft such as the Leo 451 has 16 rate 3, and it carryed about 1500 kg bombs, 3x more than Ki-43. Something like this would make sense.

The Ki-43 was actually an army land based fighter, although it may land on carriers in the game. I know that some of the things are put in the way they are to balance the game, though.

Also, in regard to aircraft ranges, have you ever thought about giving aircraft their actual ranges in the game? Most seem pretty close to, but some are not. The map in WWII Global can never represent actual global ranges, but it seems to be somewhat accurate, in that each square on the map represents around 112 Km. (simply taking earth circumference 40076KM/359 civ squares), of course towards the poles, this measurement would not necessarily be the case, but with this type of map projection used, it comes out reasonably close in most cases. So this would give the Zero an in-game range of 10, Ki-27 Nate range 3, the Ki-43 range of 5, the Leo 451 a range of 9, Lancaster range 14, Pe-8 range of 11, B-24 range of 11, B-29 range of 17, and so on. I mean, for a B-29 to bomb something 30 tiles away, it would run out of fuel on the way back.

Just some thoughts

Especially since Democracy cannot use Military Police, your garrisoned troops can't even produce a few content faces. MP's can make quite a difference in city size when luxuries are few.

Yup. I had that MP problem with China, too, but at least there I had luxuries.

Colombia, it's Colombia. :king:

Perdon a me por favor!

Ver. 2.5. Brazil. AI most aggressive. Regent.

Rocoteh, should there really be so much desert in Venezuela? I had no idea there was any desert there. I just noticed that much of Venezuela is desert on this map. Perhaps it's for gameplay reasons?

Week 26, 1940:

-Puerto Acre builds a Granary & starts building a Worker.

-Recife builds a Worker & starts building an Airport. It's in a perfect position to bomb the Argentines...

Week 27, 1940:

-Recife builds a Worker & starts building a Granary.

-Sao Paulo builds a Worker & starts building an Airport.

-Rio de Janeiro goes into civl disorder!

That's all that happened...

Week 29, 1940:

-Belem builds an Aquaduct & starts building a Worker.

-Fortaleza builds a Granary & starts building...you guessed it...a Worker.

-Montevideo builds an Airport & starts building a Worker.

-The U.S. captures Mexico City! The next thing you know they will take Mexican cuisine & make fast food out of it...

Week 30, 1940:

-Recife & Montevideo go into civil disorder! The tequila shortage caused by the war in Mexico is taking effect. Fortunately, we produce pretty good rum.

-Porto Alegre builds a Courthouse & starts building a Worker.

Week 31, 1940:

-Carajas & Goyas build Workers & start building Courthouses. It's time to bring law to the jungle.

-Fortaleza builds a Worker & starts building a Barracks.

-Porto Alegre builds a Worker & starts building a Library.

Gotta sleep. To be continued...

I'm impressed that you have been able to hold out in Europe as France in your playtest. I tried France once in version 2.3 & got crushed in Europe.

Maimonides -
Thanks, but frankly, I think my playing style is more suited to defense than offense - I'm a grinder, so bunkering down and waiting for the Nazis to come calling is pretty much right up my alley.
I DO wish the French had some decent offensive units, though - it's a b*tch to contemplate taking on Soviet and German assault guns and heavy tanks with nothing more powerful than an M-4 Sherman!! France also lacks a substantial bomber, an 'advanced' battleship, and an 'advanced' submarine. (The P-47 Thunderbolt IS a serviceable fighter, though - I have to admit that!) If you want to get a flavor of how important good air and naval units are, play as Japan. As a for-instance - when you get the tech that allows Otsu's, it's like Christmas! Those Otsu subs can take down ANYTHING up to a battleship....
The units available to France allow a decent defense, but offensive action is only possible in very limited/localized situations. (Like versus the Italians - I was able to kick the snot out of Italy, but when their big brothers, the Germans, show up, it's a whole different ballgame!!)

Historically, the U.S. was able to bomb Tokyo from Saipan with B-29s. I just counted tiles between the two on this map & found 27 so it's range of 30 is pretty close to being correct. A range of 17 would be far too low for the B-29 on this map.

Historically, the M4 Sherman was successful because it was reliable & produced in huge numbers. It couldn't stand up to Panthers & Tigers that weren't broken down, but you probably know this.

I have played as Japan & enjoyed it very much. I like island-hopping campaigns & using combined forces of naval, air & land units.

Any French presence on mainland Europe after 1940 is a big accomplishment in my eyes.

Ver. 2.5. Brazil. AI most aggressive. Regent.

We are finally transforming into a modern nation.

Week 35, 1940:

-The Soviets demand 65 Gold from me. I give it to them. They are not at war with anyone & I don't want to be their only target, yet. They are "annoyed" with me for some reason.

I trade my only Horses resource to them for Aluminum. My infantry are more useful than Cavalry anyway. Hopefully, the Aluminum will allow me to make better air units. They have extra Oil, Iron & Coal, too, but they won't trade them for Horses. After the trade is agreed to, they are "polite" towards me.

-Recife builds an Airport & starts building a Worker.

-Curitiba builds a Worker & starts building a Granary.

-Disease strikes Manaus! We might as well declare it a leper colony & give up, but we need every city's production right now. Only it's Bananas resource makes it a viable city.

-In Europe, German-held Brest, Antwerp & Amsterdam have all dropped to population 1 so it looks like the Allies are bombing them heavily.

-Japan captures Lanchow! They have bypassed Yenan.

Week 36, 1940:

-Puerto Acre builds a Worker & starts building a Courthouse.

-Fortaleza builds a Barracks & starts building a Worker.

-Disease strikes Manause again! Sheesh.

-Our Workers connect Manaus to the Gold at our nothern border near Georgetown! This will be a big help when Manaus' isolation ends.

Week 37, 1940:

-Our Workers complete the road between Manaus & Belem! We now have access to Manaus' Gold & Rubber!

-Recife builds a Worker & starts building a Mass Trasit System.

-Montevideo builds a University & starts building a Combat Engineer.

-Manaus builds a Combat Engineer & starts building a Courthouse.

-Japan captures Ansi!

Week 38, 1940:

-Fortaleza builds a Worker & starts building a Mass Transit System.

-Recife builds a Mass Transit System & starts building a Combat Engineer.

-Sao Paulo builds a University & starts building a Combat Engineer.

-Porto Alegre builds a Library & starts building a Combat Engineer.

To be continued...

Ver. 2.5. Brazil. AI most aggressive. Regent.

Week 39, 1940:

Now that we have Rubber, we're switching from Workers to Combat Engineers. They take much longer to build, but they have a defensive value & will be able to build railroads when we secure Coal.

We now have 2 luxuries, Gold & Spices, so our cities can grow a little larger without rioting.

-Germany offers me a peace treaty for 80 Gold. I decline the offer. The other Axis nations have not declared war on me & it's very unlikely they can
reach my shores anytime soon.

-Fortaleza builds a Mass Transit System & starts building a Combat Engineer.

-Asuncion builds a Courthouse & starts building a Combat Engineer.

Week 40, 1940:

Nothing happens...

Out of boredom, I send my Fighter to recon Buenos Aires. As I suspected, they have Tanks now.

Week 41, 1940:

-Our Fighter recons Curityba & finds Tanks there, too.

-Japan captures Su-Chou!

Week 42, 1940:

-Fortaleza & Porto Alegre go into civil disorder!

-Curitiba builds a Granary & starts building a Combat Engineer.

Week 43, 1940:

-Teffe builds a Worker & starts building a Courthouse.

-Belem builds a Courthouse & starts building a Combat Engineer.

-Japan razes Yenan!

Week 44, 1940:

-Germany declares war on Spain! I was wondering why Germany hadn't taken Gibralter. Perhaps it's because they were in a ROP dispute with Spain. I so wish we could send troops to help Spain. The other Axis nations follow suit & declare war on Spain.

-Recife goes into civil disorder!

-Manaus builds a Courthouse & starts building a Combat Engineer.

-Great Britain takes Saipan! The Japanese are failing utterly in the south Pacific this game.

I just noticed that Freiburg, Germany has a population of 61! Wow!

Week 45, 1940:

-Germany captures Zaragoza!

-Japan captures Sian!

-China recaptures Ningpo! Wow!

Week 46, 1940:

-Cuyabaya builds a Courthouse & starts building a Combat Engineer. I think I forgot to mention that our Workers completed the road between Cuyabaya & Goyas a few Weeks ago so Cuyabaya is no longer isolated.

Carajas' Workers are building a road to the Dyes north of there, but Carajas remains isolated deep in the jungle itself. They have access to Rubber now.

Week 47, 1940:

-Porto Alegre goes into civil disorder! The olive shortage caused by the war in Spain is taking effect.

-Germany takes Barcelona!

Week 48, 1940:

-Italy demands 77 Gold from us. What a joke! I tell them we are no longer a 3rd world country that can be pushed around. They do not declare war even though I am at war with their ally, Germany.

It occurs to me that Germany might be able to reach our shores after they conquer Spain...

-Carajas & Goyas build Courthouses & start building Combat Engineers.

-Recife builds a Combat Engineer & starts building a Marketplace.

-Belem's Workers complete a road to the Rubber located south of there. We now have 3 sources of Rubber.

-We trade Rubber to France for Iron & 10 Gold. I am leary of trading with one of the Allies because I will probably attack them at some point, but I need that Iron right now.

Sweden & the Soviets have extra Iron, but neither needs my Rubber. I'd prefer to trade with them as there is little chance we will ever become enemies.

-Germany captures Valencia!

Week 49, 1940:

-Fortaleza goes into civil disorder!

-Italy captures Cordoba!

-Japan recaptures Ningpo!

-Great Britain captures Nicosia!

Week 50, 1940:

-Germany captures La Coruna!

Week 51, 1940:

-Germany captures Madrid! Spain is eliminated. What jerks! That was my job.

-Gibraltar is razed! I'm not sure if Germany or Italy did it.

The Axis now holds all of Iberia except for Portuguese Lissabon.

-Recife builds a Marketplace & starts building a Combat Engineer.

-Rio de Janeiro builds a Manufacturing Plant & starts building a Mass Transit System.

-Montevideo builds a Combat Engineer & starts building a Mass Transit System.

Week 52, 1940:

-Fortaleza builds a Combat Engineer & starts building a Library.

-Rio de Janeiro builds a Mass Transit System & starts building a Coastal Fortress.

Do Coastal Fortesses work in this scenario? I can't remember.

-Montervideo builds a Mass Transit System & starts building a Combat Engineer.

1940 Recap:

-Spain eliminated by the Axis.

-The Allies hold everything in the south Pacific except for Hainan & Taipe. The U.S. never lost the Phillipines this game which is very unsual. When I played as the U.S., I couldn't hold them... Japan is doing very poorly there. If they don't get control of the ocean & the air, they will be doomed as the Allies continue to island-hop to their home islands.

-China is holding on against Japan, but the Communist Chinese are crumbling.

-Italy still has 2 cities in Africa. The rest of the continent is held by the Allies and Portugal.

-In the Med, France has held on to Corsica. The U.S. continues to hold Cagliari. The Axis only holds the European coast. They have lost all Mediterranean islands.

-I am still at war with Germany, but, even with Spain, they will have a hard time reaching my shores. I'm in no position to attack them either.

-Our massive production of Workers has started to pay off. Our isolated jungle villages are being connected to our road network & we're beginning to reap the benefits of the previously isolated jungle resources. At the coastal cities, Workers are being tasked to clear Jungle & Forest now.

-We will be able to switch some cities to military production soon. The coming war in South America looks like it's going to be all about stacks of Heavy Artillery & Infantry.

To be continued...

I will have to see about what the French are given for naval units in the scenario, but the French had two very good battlecruisers in the Dunkerque and Strasbourg, clearly superior to the German Scharnhorst class, and in the Richelieu and Jean Bart, a couple of very good battleships, comparable to the Bismarck class. The French destroyers were some of the fastest in the world, and the French cruisers were good. As for French aircraft, considering that the French were buying export versions of the Curtiss P-36 and the Dougles DB-7/A-20 light bombers from the US, you do have a problem.

As for the Sherman, it was upgunned throughout the war, in various ways. The US switched to the 76mm gun with high-velocity tungsten-carbide cored ammunition which made the tank a bit more effective against the German ones. The British mounted their 17-pounder antitank gun on some of theirs, calling it the Firefly, and it was a lot more effective against the German tanks, especially when firing discarding-sabot ammunition. There was also a tank destroyer version, the M-36 Jackson, that mounted a 90mm gun, and was very effective against the German heavy tanks. After the war, the Israelis mounted a French 105mm gun on some of their Shermans, so if development had been pushed, the Sherman could have mounted a 90mm gun in WW2. Does the scenario allow for upgrading the Sherman? if not, it should.

What would probably help countries like France the most is something that I use in my summer history class when we play Axis and Allies, full world and Pacific. I plug the Lend-Lease Act into the game, as a source of additional units for the Allied players. In March of 1941, the US passed the Lend-Lease Act, which allowed for US military equipment and other material to be furnished to countries fighting against Germany and Italy and the obviously Japan without requiring payment, just that the surviving material had to be returned at the end of the war. By 1944, the US was producing about 50% of the WORLD'S MILITARY HARDWARE, so the Allied countries got a lot of material, also food and merchant shipping and other needed items. If countries allied to the US could build something like a Lend-Lease Small Wonder, likely several different kinds, they could get equipment beyond with the scenario allows them.

To be continued...

I have been reading the posts, and would like to propose the addition of the Lend-Lease Small Wonder, or more properly Wonders to the game. The Lend-Lease Act of March of 1941 allowed the US government to lend military equipment and material to those countries fighting Germany, Italy, and later Japan, without requiring payment. This was an enormous help to the Allies. I use the Lend-Lease concept in my summer history gaming classes where we play Axis and Allies, both the whole world and the Pacific war versions. I am aware that various wonders have been plugged into the game to autoproduce units. Basically, you could have a Transport Small Wonder that produces Transports, a Bomber Small Wonder that produces bombers, a Fighter Small Wonder that produces Fighters, a Tank Small Wonder that produces Tanks, an Artillery Small Wonder that produces Artilley, an Infantry Small Wonder that produces infantry units, and a Naval Small Wonder that produces destroyer escorts. A nation would have to build these, and they could not be built by Germany, Italy, or Japan.

If something like this already exists, I ask for excuse of my ignorance, as I am on Macs, and the scenario does not run on my Macs. Nor do I have a Conquests game editor for my Macs. If someone has managed to get it to run on a Mac, I would love to hear how he did it. I now have a Windows box for game editing, so I am going to try and work on it so it will run on a Mac. I have played some on the Winter War scenario, as I have studied the Russo-Finnish War extensively, and worked on that to simulate the large amount of military assistance received by the Finns from other countries, including Mussolini's Italy.

There is a limit on how many Wonders can be placed in a game & that limit has been reached in this scenario to keep the AI from razing cities. Some of the Wonders already do autoproduce units.

Sorry to hear you can't play this on your Mac, but you really need to play it to offer useful suggestions.

I love Axis & Allies. Probably my favorite board game.

Historically, the U.S. was able to bomb Tokyo from Saipan with B-29s. I just counted tiles between the two on this map & found 27 so it's range of 30 is pretty close to being correct. A range of 17 would be far too low for the B-29 on this map.

Yes, distances vary depending on the location of the map, so using a set value of KM per square tile does not work. In this regard, the distances for aircraft work well in regard to the map.

week 34 of 1943 - Germany- Sid level - v. 2.5.

Domination victory!

After having taken Australia, New Zealand, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia and Venezuela, the world is 66 per cent mine (population 78 percent).

I just researched Sea 2 1945, the atomic bomb, I completed the Manhattan Project and was about to build the first bomb.

My military is strong compared to all other nations.

I have got about 550 modern tanks (Panther, Jagdpanther, SS 1943 and 1944), 80 heavy bombers and 40 Hindenburgs. I guess US invasion will have to wait till another game....
There is no challenge anymore and victory is officially achieved anyway.

I had a lot of fun, thanks to the creators,

see you guys

Japan - SID difficulty, AI most aggressive, AI Workers enabled, ironman rules (no reloads)

WorldMap6.jpg

Week 32, 1941 - Took Jerusalem (Great Britain). Whoa! Near Algiers, my Otsu has spotted 6 US Battleship C2's, 1 Battleship, 3 Carriers, and a couple destroyers. I doubt my Otsu will last long. I can see how Japan is constantly going to war with Russia due to hitting their subs. They are sending lots of subs down into waters near Japan. I dont have destroyers with all my ships, so I am trying to be careful not to run one over.
Week 33, 1941 - Soviet Russia blatently declared war on me by sinking a 1939 destroyer with a Battleship C2. Italy, Germany, and Finland declare war on Soviet Russia. I had no time to set up defenses near Ahvaz yet, and that is where the main Russian armor hordes are at. The Soviet Battleship C2 was sunk quickly by my Yamato that was following it. All of the 4 British transport groups headed towards India from out of the Suez immediately turned around and started heading back since I have an attack group moving in. My Battleship group is following. Took Suez (Great Britain). Took Alexandria (Great Britain). Sunk British Carrier Glorious near Suez. Germany is doing a horrible job in this game of, at least, containing the Allies. Allied ships are all over the Mediterranean, with no fear. I think the AI 'targets' the human player instead of doing more productive things, i.e. Why would Britain send transports and convoys all the way around Africa and through the Suez to try to attack me in India (which is something like 30+ turns), when it would be WAY more productive to launch assaults on Italy (which it passes on the way to Suez). Doesn't make much sense. Evacuating all troops from Ahvaz, there is no chance I can hold it. Destroyed roads connecting Teheran and Ahvaz, and Ahvaz to Khorramshahr. Kept a paratrooper and a Chi-Ha on the mountains right next to Ahvaz to use their zones of control to damage passing units.
Week 34, 1941 - Soviet Russia takes Ahvaz (Japan). Germany takes Voronezh (Soviet Russia). Destroyed road connecting Soviet city Vladivostok so it cannot create anymore Battleships. Battleship Royal Oak sunk near Persian Gulf.
Week 35, 1941 - Soviet Russia takes Istanbul (Turkey). *** Turkey Defeated ***. Sunk British Battleship Royal Sovereign near Persian Gulf. Great Britain had 1 Lion Class and 4 King George V Battleships in the Mediterranean, but after it bombarded Alexandria, it moved 4 of them into port at Tobruk, which is within attack range of my troops. Took Tobruk (Great Britain). Thats an easy way to take out some Battleships. Destroyed road connecting Amgu, near Vladivostok, so that city cannot make any units requiring resources. Dealt Russia a serious blow, destroying almost 30 T-34/76 and KV-1 units taking only a few losses, at the Battle of Ahvaz. Russia also lost 14 bombers over Bagdad, thanks to the 3 Flaks and 6 Zeros stationed in the area. 25 Chi-Ha's and Infantry moving in on Soviet city Tjita. Russia does not have many units in the east, and the assaulting forces have encountered no resistance.
Week 36, 1941 - Destroyed French 5th Cavalry Brigade near Alexandria. Took Cairo (Great Britain). Germany takes Kursk (Soviet Russia). Took Tjita (Soviet Russia). Germany takes Pskov (Soviet Russia). The Soviet armor horde near Ahvaz began moving away headed NE.
Week 37, 1941 - Once again, Britain used its battleships to bombard Tobruk, then brought a Lion Class and 2 King George Battleships into port at Benghazi, which is in range of a ground attack. Took Benghazi (Great Britain), destroying their battleships. Sunk British Light Cruiser Perth Class Hobarth near Auckland. All of the British Convoys and their escorts have been sunk that got stuck in the Indian Ocean when I took Suez. My fleet in the Indian Ocean (Currently 5 Yamato, 10 Heavy Cruisers, 2 Battleships, 2 Carriers, 2 Light Cruisers, 16 Otsu, and Destroyers) will repair, and then proceed into the Mediterranean Sea. A few Otsu subs have arrived just south of Brest, and there is a huge US battlegroup stationed there consisting of 3 carriers and 11 Battleship C2s (and there may be more, that is just what is within my view range). Germany has a U-Boat Type VII right in the area also.
Week 38, 1941 - First Iowa Class Battleship appears on the US West Coast. Delivered another blow to Soviet Russian forces, destroying 21 T-34/76's attempting to attack Khorramshahr, which were redlined by my bombers, and taken out by my Chi-Ha's. Took Taluma (Soviet Russia). My Otsu's destroyed the 3 Escort Carriers protected by the 11 US Battleship C2's using their stealth attack ability near Brest. Another Otsu also destroyed a protected Escort Carrier near Tunis, although it was sunk when it attacked the US Carrier Ranger.
Week 39, 1941 - I have an Otsu sub observing near Istanbul. Soviet Russia just brought 7 KV-1's and T-34's towards Sofia, I hope Germany holds. Oh, I see Germany has Panzergrenadiers now (guarding Sofia), they should be fine. 64 Soviet armored units have come within range of Bagdad (where all my air units are stationed). They are in 2 stacks. I destroyed 1 of the stacks (29 units), and brought every unit available into Bagdad to defend against the other stack. Thankfully, Bagdad is behind a river, which will help with defense. If the other stack attacks Bagdad, I expect to take quite a few losses. Attempted to sink a badly damaged Elite US Battleship C2 with 2 Otsu's off the coast of Spain, but failed.
Week 40, 1941 - Soviet Russia asked for an audience (to make peace), declined. Sunk US Carrier Ranger off the coast of Spain near Cordoba. There is a group of 7 Lion Class Battleships near Plymouth, I must say, there are battleships EVERYWHERE up around the German coast and the Mediterranean Sea. Not a safe place to be, unless you are in an Otsu sub. About 20 Soviet armor pieces took my position on the hill near Khorramshahr where I had a fortress built. I bombed and destroyed the T-34's but lost about 5-6 Chi-Ha's in the process. I will attempt to take back Ahvaz in a few turns, as the Soviet force in this area has pretty much been destroyed, only about 25 tanks remain. I have to give thanks to the 80-strong Japanese bomber force for the success!
Week 41, 1941 - First Shokaku Class Carrier is produced! Took Dongola (Great Britain). I will push down south on the African west coast to assist the Italian cities that are still struggling against the Allied forces. If I can take Ahvaz soon, I will push up into Turkey. Since Soviet Russia is attacking Germany from Istanbul, we can surround them and destroy them. I would hand Istanbul over to Germany to allow them passage easy passage into the middle east.

Strengths:
Soviet Russia - 127 Armored Units, 660 Infantry, 30 ships/112 subs/12 transports/1 carrier, 41 bombers/216 fighters, 105 workers
Italy - 1 Armored Units, 55 Infantry, 0 ships/0 subs, 0 bombers/9 fighters, 6 workers
Germany - 156 Armored Units, 120 Infantry, 1 ships/6 subs/2 transport, 7 bombers/147 fighters, 13 workers
Great Britain - 110 Armored Units, 384 Infantry, 50 ships/0 subs/14 transports/5 carriers, 18 bombers/124 fighters, 92 workers
France - 6 Armored Units, 77 Infantry, 0 ships/0 subs/1 transport, 7 bombers/0 fighters, 21 workers
US - 623 Armored Units, 513 Infantry, 40 ships/1 carriers/9 transports, 20 bombers/48 fighters, 68 workers
Finland - 7 Armored Units, 49 Infantry, 3 ships/0 transport, 0 bombers/0 fighter, 8 workers
Japan - 100 Armored Units, 330 Infantry, 126 ships/122 subs/16 transports/7 carriers, 74bombers/108 fighters, 108 workers

My Military Strength is strong compared to Soviet Russia, Great Britain, and Germany; average compared to the US.

Domination victory!

WOW! :goodjob:

Rocoteh, I suggest that Brazil's cities all have at least a Temple preplaced. Even the jungle outposts surely had missionaries & small churches in the '40s. Perhaps the larger coastal cities should have Cathedrals preplaced as well.

I also suggest that Belem have a Marketplace & a Harbor preplaced. The mouth of the Amazon was a busy trading site & Belem represents that for the purposes of this scenario. It shouldn't alter gameplay much.
