OK thanks for the help guys but i solved it anyway, it was just me being a ******: i put it in the conquests folder not the scenarios folder.

Just somthing i noticed in the game which i belive is bugged: Swordfish Planes that are on the british carriers cannot attack they seem to have a range of 0 exept the square they are already in.

You have done an incredible Job with the Royal Navy every ship i can think of is there name for name,

I think maybe Starting the Repulse and Prince of wales in singapore might be a good idea even tho they wasent in 1939, Britain lacks capital ships in the far east (but then again very realistic)

i am enjoying this alot im playing the British Empire

at the moment i have only been able to make a few turns but so far like th eearlier British player said most of the action has been at sea.

Alot of fighting in the med vs Italy also turkey and spain declared war on me and france
Alot of fighting in the Norht sea im trying to get rid of all thos edamn uboats

I have rolled over taiwan and planning to occupy saudi so i can have a op supply line from africa-mideast-india-far east to keep japan of the mainland

i am also in the process of rolling italys afrian cities

Playing as the British Empire should be a challenge.

I d/led v1.0 a few days ago, and playing as Britain I'm really enjoying it- I've virtually destroyed the German navy, and the Italians are being worn down bit by bit, and though my landing force in Europe was destroyed, I'm taking Italy's African cities. Great work on this scenario.

However, like someone already said, the Swordfish plane is a bit useless (0 range and can only bombard) and I think the no hurry option is a bit bad, because money or forced labour was used by both sides to complete projects (the war loans of the USA, labour camps in German etc) and though I understand why you can't hurry, I think it should be put back in if it hasn't already (I haven't d/led 1.1 yet).

Swordfish-bug will be corrected in version 1.2.

On forced labour:
It will be possible in 1.2.

Any combat with the forces of Japan?

Civs at Post 3, 9 and 10.
 
Hey Roco if yo need a M-unit that is a soviet SU76M Self propelled gun look it up in my link.

BTW My first turn took forever cause of all the units I had to move :lol:
But very ACCURATE really appreciate the MOD
 
Hi Rocoteh,

I promised a playtest, but now that you have moved on to version 1.1, I'll make it breif and then switch to 1.1 myself.

WK36; I take Lodz and Copenhagen. Silly Spanish declare war on the French.
I make nice with the Russians so I can concentrate on France and England. I want to try my hand at SeaLion in this game.
WK37; I take Amsterdam, Brussels, Warsaw and Danzig. The French AI razes Spanish Bilbao and Barcelona. My Navy continues to snipe at the Brits. The minefields are great ambush devices, but almost seem unfair, although probably pretty realistic, especially in the Baltic.
WK40; Paris Falls
WK41; Brest Falls and the Italians complete their conquest of Yugoslavia. A little to easy by historical standards, but maybe the Italians had better generals this time around!
WK42 Lyon falls
WK43 Oslo and Bordeaux
WK44 Bergen and Marsailles. The damn Japanese ruin my strategy by declaring war on Russia.

OK I am gonna shut this down and move on to 1.1. Perhaps I'll play as Japan. One minor note. It took a lot of U-boat power for me to sink the heavier classes of Brits CA, BC and BBs. I know that was not their primary role in the war, but I believe that early on German boats did score some success in sneak raids in Scapa Flow. Also, Germany starts with no transports and can't build Paratroops, so an immediate invasion of Norway is not possible. I know german Paratroops took part in assaults on the Low countries in May 40. Were their no sig para-assaults before that?

Anyway, very cool scenario, I will keep playing Thanks,

Oh, I just downloaded the zips for the save games for version 1.1 and they seem to be empty. Did I do something wrong.

I am glad to hear that you like WW2-Global

I will check out the SU76M.

When I playtest I move the ground and air units I want to move.
Then I move perhaps 20-30% of the naval units.
After that I hit end turn (Shift+Enter).
This way the game moves faster compared to if one cycle through all
the units.

Thank you for the playtest-report.

I do not know why Spain declare war on France.
Aggression level is set to lowest possible.

The reason for the minefields is to prevent unrealistic
Royal Navy raids and in the case of Finland to prevent
Soviet from using its huge submarine-force.

In reality Soviet subs operated in the Baltic, but minefields
did stop them to be used in a effective way until late 1944.

I agree with you that its to easy to play Germany. However its harder
in Version 1.1. In fact play-balance was the prime reason to why
I released 1.1 so fast.

Yes, Battleships Royal Oak and Barham were sunk by single
German U-boats (Royal Oak in Scapa Flow and Barham near Tobruk.)

The problem is that if I make U-boats to powerful it will have
impact on play-balance and AI will only build U-boats.
However in 1.1 their defense have been increased somewhat.

In fact German use of Paratroopers ended with the
invasion of Crete. (On Hitlers direct order.)
Note "use" here means with regard to air-landings.
Thus I will make them avalable for Germany at start in version 1.1.

The saved games downloads looks empty when one check them
with "explore", but they are OK and one have to choose "extract"
to get the files to the Saves-folder.

Hello Rocotech, i have made a less system antagonizing biq file, now i dont know if youve already made a shorter version since i havent read all of the threads. Basically i just eliminated most of the civs that were useless. This should make gameplay interesting if you are on the western hemisphere since it will now be a race to claim as many rescources as possible. Also i broke up the civs on the eastern hemisphere in the hopes that it will lead to better gameplay. If you wanna pm me or change anything feel free

p.s can someone please tell me how to put up a custom avatar?

It possible I will make a short version of WW2-global in the future.
However experience from other scenarios I have worked with
show that interest for short versions is less than one could expect.

Thank you.

Since the scenario is so huge it will take long time to load on even
rather fast computers. That is the reason to why I provide saved games.

Reactions on WW2-Global have so far been overall positive.
Thus its possible I will make a WW3-Global. It will use a 180x180 map
that will allow much faster load and game-play than WW2-Global.

Hello Rocotech, well i just wanted to put it out for the people like me whose computers cant exactly handle the long load, or if they are also like me and essentially have ADD. In anycase the aforementioned link that i put up there may as well not be there since i played it right now and it is not much better, so i made a new one and found that loading time on my comp (1.8 ghz 215 ram) was about 3-5 minutes which is astounding. in anycase with your permission i would very much like to save you the time in making the shorter version and just work on it myself since i have ALOT of time on my hands.

p.s. This version is somewhat sloppy because i moved cities and whatnot so unfortunately city placement suffers.

p.p.s if you could send me a list of units that are not necessary (i mean no disrespect) so that i could cut them it would be much appreciated, after all a scenario this good deserves to be played by those with even the most outdated and inept computers :)

Hi! This is my first post. Downloaded this and played as germans. Great scenario Rocoteh! :goodjob: I especially like the naval units and their graphics :)

Some observations if i may:
1. About the research tree. It's a bit ambiguous and misleading. Not all lines are connecting to the right advances. Also one cannot tell if there are really new units to be build unless he knows a bit WW2 history. And some units advertised (such as StuG3G after researching Sea 1942) can't be build.

2. Inability to negociate ROP with allies such as Romania/Hungary/Yugoslavia.
I got irritated by that but happily they declared war to the italians somehow and i conquered it.

3. Some tank stats don't seem right. T-34/85, IS-1 and IS-2 should be better. I can detaliate on that if you like.

4. City police is way too expansive. The unit is weaker than german infantry bot more expensive!

5. The are some unknown luxuries who doesn't have icons on city view.

6. German cruiser Graf Spee should be faster. It was known to have higher firepower then the ships that matched its speed and higher speed than the more powerfull ones. Maybe a different class (like Bismarck) is worth taking in consideration.

7. Germans are a bit too powerfull overall. Panzer 1 and 2 were very light bot speedy tanks. Maybe a weaker attack/defense and a speed of 3 should be more accurate?

8. There are no unit upgrades as far as i found out.

9. What is with that 1 plane capacity Japanese carrier? Pretty much useless i think.

10. ... and finally...there are pigs bonuses near many muslim african cities! :lol:

Anyway, despite many minor correctable flaws the scenario is outstanding :king:

I take it that was an [/U]I will do it later. well ok im sorry if i offended you in any way. well in anycase i was only trying to let the civ fans have a way to enjoy the game without having to wait until you get around to it. Now if im not overstepping my boundries i would very much like it if you still sent me a list so i can make my own personal version, thank you

You have not offended me.

If you want to make your own personal version, you just
open the biq-file with the Editor and choose units.
There you have all the unit-types used in the scenario.

Giving away the right to a short version that will be released
at CFC is serious business to me!
Please consider that I have invested several hundreds of hours
in this scenario. Then I think you understand why I am not interested
to just give away such a right.
Good luck with the personal version.

ofcourse, i realize that this is your "baby" so no hard feelings. As far as the units though i have read many books on world war 2 and i have no idea what some of them are, as well as why some of them arent allowed to be built which is why i could use some of your insight
