Eaglefox -

In this scenario mobilization (War-Time production) has no negative effects. You can build anything at any time. Therefore you should always be mobilized. Remember to click it on after any peace.
what??? well now i feel pretty stupid. thanks a lot for telling me. man i can't believe this.

Eaglefox - I know how you feel. I played the scenario for weeks until it was casually mentioned by someone. Here is another one - all power stations (coal and hydro) are CUMULATIVE - they do not cancel the other out when built. Add that to mobilization and you will see quick production of units. This was Rocoteh's intent and it does work - just that it is not compiled anywhere. I am thinking of putting these together as a readme file. What else is unique about the mod?

im playing the germany ai and i was wondering if i should take over mainland france? is this a good idea?

Hubschrauber - Eventually yes. From my experience it is critical to crush the Russians first before they get their production going. French cities can be helpful but my preference it to beat back the Russians to Moscow first. This will give you a lot of good production cities and then you can turn back on the French. Alternative is to beat the Russians back and then drive to split the British - either at Suez or at Meshed.

would it be worth the effort to take belgrade just before my assault on russia, which i hope to get under way in the next 8-10 turns, and is this a good time to attack russia?

Hubschrauber - As I said it is always a good time to attack Russia - they only get stronger.

Keep your focus on strategic questions and don't get diverted. Take Turkey first.

Really, you should play it the way you want and learn.

Have fun and good luck

ok i've got a problem, on turn 1 i took brussels and amsterdam, then the french tanks attacked the city and killed 2 heavy machine guns and 2 german infantries, and 1 german 88. now they have a force of 60-80 infanties and everything they got for an offense! should i use my bombers and weaken them? and should i attack them or just leave them and fortify the city? please help me. and i lost about 10-15 uboats on the first turn. is that to much or can i live with it?

Hubschrauber - What version are you playing and at what level? Of course you will have casualties. Don't worry about the uboats - you will get a free one each turn. Reinforce the cities you take. Make artillery!

Use bombers on units out of cities and keep away from the coast.

Yeah, likewise Ouch. I've reached March 1944 in my current (1.7 Emperor)game as Britain without mobilizing and have got the Axis Alliance licked (Japan, Thailand & Italy are gone, Germany has lost Sofia, Vienna, Budapest & Munich and is about to lose Stuttgart next turn). Also I've whupped the Russians once already, I'm trying to decide if I want to continue after Germany is beaten. Next game I will mobilise & build coal plants for sure.

Two points for Racoteh: In the Civilopedia entries for Aqueducts/Hospitals it says the growth limits have been changed to 15/28, but in the game the standard 6/12 limits seem to apply - is that an oversight & was it fixed in v1.8? Also is it deliberate that the British don't have Uranium anywhere in their dominion, if I recall Canada (and maybe Australia, possibly even S Africa) have it IRL?

Please, help. You could not give one more reference (alternative link (ver. 1.0)) on the script, with this at me a problem. I shall be very grateful.
Forgive for my English, I from Ukraine.

wow oljb007. you have done really well. how did you do it? what level are you playing? yeah the russian production is spectacular in my game too. but my own production is not that much in comparison. the only reason i have been able to take land from the russians in my game is superior firepower. even then i have to depend on the russsian ai for peace. had the ai been any smarter the third reich would have collapsed way before may 8, 1945. how did you get france out of europe so soon. actually i got them out in my game by mid 1940, then i had a war with the russians in which my tank force was reduced to 23 from 56. then i waited till week 21, 1941 to rebuild my force. 161 tanks in four turns were again reduced to 66. i got lucky in that i got peace otherwise they were about to launch a major offensive against two cities after which only a backward movement was probably gonna be in store for me. they started out with 174 t-34 and 51 kv-1 to my 161 panzers. by the end of the fourth turn they had 28 kv-1 and 61 t-34. so its not my fighting that's wrong. i mean i hit them pretty hard - even i was surprised at that result. i wanna know what i am doing wrong? am i waiting too long? am i, in my quest to build a powerful offensive force, giving them too much time to prepare their defences? man i haven't even touched africa yet, or the middle east for that matter. heck i don't even have all of turkey and i also lost crete to the freakin french!!! by the way, i never use war-time production because i like building othe stuff in my cities that can help boost the production (factories, culture too actually). is that what might be wrong? all suggestions will be appretiated. thanks to all.

Eaglefox--

Germany vs AI (special version)
SID level
wk 34 1940
No war-time economy
no stealing techs
conscripting from Berlin and Hamburg ONLY!

The key to WWII for Germany was the utilization of their superior technology, tanks and planes before the technology became obsolete/common place.

So with that in mind that is how I played; attack fast and hard, gain as much as possible before other countries advance technologically.

Another big factor for me is to not divide my attacking force up to such a degree that it hinders me. I used my entire luftwaffe against france, (with the exception of a few 109's/110's on air superiority) I also used every bloody infantry I could find to attack their infantry. France was off the continent by week 51 1939.

I decided to wait on attacking Russia for awhile as I wanted to make the game more realistic according to real timeline. So I decided to hold off till mid 1940 as that is when Russia would get the t-34's. (I attack with easy victories then the tide would change when they start building T-34's)

So, in the meantime I went for N. Africa. I took gibraltar and greece including crete to give me staging points. Then I took basically what is Egypt, to Breakup the British area of control. I also took one city in French Morroco just to open a front with them to drain their military while they attack with inferior units.

week 21 I hit Russia as I was worried the T-26's were upgradeable to T-34's and they had over a 100! 8 weeks later they got T-34's, not upgradeable, thank god! but the tide hasn't really changed.

From what you wrote I would suggest a couple of things. One, you dont need an overwhelming force to wage war! You have to account for technological advantage too. I started my war with Russia with a little over 30 Panzers, while she had over 100 T-26's, 140 moto info and some ungodly amount of infantry. Oh, not to mention 70+ aircraft. But all those units suck and the AI isn't smart enought to concentrate its force to maximize the volume of weaker units.

My other piece of advice would be not to squander your offensive units. Protect them and let them heal to fight another day. I usually move a 88's into either hills or forest next to a city which gives a defensive bonus then attack from there. that way you have a place to leave your tanks in enemy territory where they wont get tore up by a counter attack as easily. Germany doesn't have the capacity to be replacing tanks as easily as russia so dont waste them!

I also really utilize my luftwaffe, I attack almost everything with luftwaffe before I attack it with ground forces. Nothing better than hitting a stack of T-34's with air then finishing them off with panzers that doen't even need to be repaired after the fight.

Thats just a few suggestions for ya and a little insight into how I play, hope it helps!

I usially attack Russia on second turn of cause without building anything et. the German infantry and a few original panzers is all what I have and it enough to make Up to the Moscow. The only main sing u should do is to block Sevastopol on first turn and capture it on second. And the only places u need panzers is odessa. I play quite simple strategy. Whatever units walk around I ignore them - just targeting russian towns and may be some tanks if they to many.

I just realised this thread has gone past 3000 posts. You don't have to close it, right?

P.S.Y.C.H.O.,

In February this year Thunderfall declared in a PM to me that
this thread is an exception to the 3000-rule.

Since I regard Thunderfall as an man of honor I assume he has
not changed his mind.

First welcome to Civfanatics forum!

I regret to say that I cannot understand your request. Are you having trouble downloading? Do not download ver 1.0. Download v 1.8. Also the big file will take very long to download.

Bob1475

At me a problem with version 1.0.
The problem of a site, it does not support ?докачку?(download), and at me speed 10 КВ/second.

I'm currently playing Germany Vs. the AI after playing the normal one (v. 1.8). It is a great mod, but one thing I am still having a hard time seeing past is the leader images. I just can't get used to calling Czarina Catherine "Commrade Stalin". Would it be possible for someone to replace the leader images with the flag of whatever country that leader is leading?
