Are you saying gays cant marry the opposite sex? Care to back that up?

Ok, then what ARE you saying when you say this: that gays can marry as long as it the opposite sex because those are your exact words. Cause as far as I know they CAN marry someone of the opposite sex if they choose to for whatever reason....heck, there are even some historical examples of this very thing happening...
