Hey yoshi? I've decided that it is really too much trouble to enter orders without actually being able to edit the map myself (and I'm just lazy), so I request that I be turned into an NPC. I'll keep following, though, to see how long "I" survive.

OOC: I'm not sure that such a penalty is really necessary, nor that it would be advisable.

I mean, it's nice that if you aren't able to post orders for a while that your YCs carry forward.

Meanwhile, you're already missing out on the opportunity to perform diplomacy, jockey for position in the world order, expand, increase your tech level, etc. You can do these things later when you get back to the game, but there is already an inherrent opportunity penalty for having missed doing these things in an earlier turnset.

I see no reason to institute an actual penalty. If the goal is to encourage people to play, I do not see how instituting a penalty will change their behaviour for the better--you're more likely to drive away a player completely if they are punished in this manner.

OOC: Lol? Seriously? If you have time to read this thread then you have time to write the orders. Yoshi does almost all of the work anyway.

For example, take a look at these orders:

Expand everywhere possible not interfering with Marseille's possible expansion.
Investigate Naval tech and Cultural Tech equally.

How is writing a couple of sentences like that any harder than writing a message in any of the other threads and Social Group topics in which you participate? For a self-professed spammer, it should be an absolutely trivial thing for you to do.


But, if you can't even be bothered to put in that level of miniscule effort, then I have just found myself a war target for next turn.

Africa...it's insane! The first wars between full fledged nations also began, with the UAE taking the most losses

War Results:

Sana'a vs. Mogadishu
Although all three attacks on the surrounding territories failed, Sana'a managed to take the city of Mogadishu on it's last attack, causing the whole empire to collapse. Mogadishu's 3 territories attached to the city were dissipated and did not go to anyone.

Marseilles attacks the UAE
In a surprise attack, Marseilles manages to take the city of Lisbon from the UAE, as well as 3 additional territories. This cancelled out 7 of the UAE's attempts to claim territories. 1 attack from Marseilles failed.

UAE attacks the Zulu
In the UAE's own surprise attack, the UAE manage to take 4 out of 8 attempts on Zulu territories. All 4 captured territories were the 4 territories around Luanda. Attacks on the Zulu city of Khartoum failed as well

The Zulu Retaliate

Angry, the Zulu attempt to capture 18 of the UAE's territories. However, they only managed to capture 5.

Epic Armies Continue to Assault

Meanwhile, in North America, Epic Armies succeed in every attack on San Francisco, capturing the city and all their territories.

It remains to be seen whether The Senate will decide to side with you against my nation's implied threat or whether they will attempt to capitalize on the situation and strike at the heartland of Marseille.

What other nations will rally to either side's flag? What roles will be wraught in the ensuing chaos? What a glorious day indeed, as battle is joined and our respective nations pit our mettle against one another!
