Your Dream Voice Actor/Actress for Civ 7

You know, everyone suggesting various Star Trek cast members might actually be onto something - it feels like half the cast of TNG have voice roles in the XCOM2 expansion, so clearly Firaxis already has it's foot in the door with their agents or whatever. :D

Which TNG cast members worked with Firaxis on XCom 2?

Off the top of my head; Jonathan Frakes, Marina Sirtis, Michael Dorn, Denise Crosby and the guy that played Q who's name escapes me atm.

I think there might have been others though? Time to check IMDB...

EDIT: Barclay did one of the solider voices. That's everyone. So if Firaxis got them all to call up Patrick Stewart and pass on how great an experience it was to work with their company, perhaps he could be convinced to do Civ VII for an acceptable fee

Odd that Patrick Stewart hasn't been involved yet. Perhaps too expensive? But he did that Emoji movie voice acting as Poop, so...

I think Oblivion is a prime example of why Patrick Stewart should not do video game voice over unless he's actually playing Picard. He sounded so "give me my paycheck and get me out of here" as Uriel Septim it wasn't even funny. :p Also, based on how bad that game's voice acting was, it's clear Sean Bean and Patrick Stewart bankrupted the voice acting budget together. :p

Do you have any idea how much money the Emoji movie was doomed to make as compared with how much Civ6 was ever going to make?

John de Lancie played Q. He's another prolific voice actor. Why, he's done everything from StarCraft II to My Little Pony. He'd be great for a touch of comic relief, a little tongue-in-cheek, anyway.

And there's already precedent for Star Trek actors in Civ. Leonard "Spock" Nimoy narrated Civ4.

If Q/Discord narrated Civ6's quotes, maybe at least someone could inject some fun into "I know we travel so much faster by airplane, but oh my, what fun we've lost!"

You better believe it. What advisor should he voice? Science? Religion?

I actually really enjoy that quote, simply because every time I hear it I try to work out if Sean Bean thought the line was intended to be sarcastic, or if the slight modulation in tone he uses is actually the way he thinks people speak when they are trying to sound lighthearted :crazyeye:

Well, he does claim to be God in the script for "Tapestry" (that line didn't make the actual episode... :p ).

I just bang my head on my desk because honestly an automated Google algorithm could have found a better quote. :p

Now I'm starting to wonder if the advisers should be generic characters or historical figures?

Elvis, Einstein, Shakespeare, Da Vinci?

Knowing Firaxis, I think they would strive to keep the advisers as diverse as possible.

Yes @ Grey DeLisle. Get her or Jim Cummings in on it asap.

Sir. David Attenborough! Can you imagine?

That would be ideal. He might do better with the pronunciations too. But would he be interested or available?
