When I was down in the southernmost city in the world (
Ushuaia, Argentina), there was one beer in particular which stood out from the rest of the brews I tried on our travels through Chile & Argentina.
Beagle Cerveza!, named after the boat that Darwin travelled on while working on the Theory of Evolution.
I had one, in an Irish pub*, on one of our last days of the trip.. I was immediately struck with how much better this beer tasted than anything else I've tried in South America at that point (Although I gotta admit that this only includes Santiago, Valparaiso, Puerto Natales, and Punta Arenas). I had been away from my usual beers for about 3 weeks at that point, but this Beagle Beer that they were selling in Ushuaia (They make it there too, I think) was just great - at the time I found it way better than most of the beers I drink over here, while all the other local brews were somewhat dissapointing.
Now, I doubt you can get this beer anywhere outside of Patagonia, but I remember really enjoying that 1 pint of it that I had.
* This "Irish Pub" thing seemed to be really popular down there - although we did not run across ONE in Chile. This place was way different than what you might imagine as an "Irish Pub". Ushuaia is pretty touristy - as touristy as such a remote place can be - this "Irish Pub" thing we came across in the touristy part of town - so it was not *really* and Irish Pub per se, but was marketed as one, if that makes any sense to you
