Your favorite Beer.

Imperial IPA! But its probably too flavorful for European palates... best stick with boring pilsners.

Oooh, I love a good IPA.

But you want flavourful, the most flavourful thing I've had was this Norwegian product:

That is, the only imperial wheat stout in the universe as modern science knows it. We were three large men (all over 100 kg) who split one bottle, and we were all satisfied. Would drink again.

When I was down in the southernmost city in the world (Ushuaia, Argentina), there was one beer in particular which stood out from the rest of the brews I tried on our travels through Chile & Argentina.

Beagle Cerveza!, named after the boat that Darwin travelled on while working on the Theory of Evolution.

I had one, in an Irish pub*, on one of our last days of the trip.. I was immediately struck with how much better this beer tasted than anything else I've tried in South America at that point (Although I gotta admit that this only includes Santiago, Valparaiso, Puerto Natales, and Punta Arenas). I had been away from my usual beers for about 3 weeks at that point, but this Beagle Beer that they were selling in Ushuaia (They make it there too, I think) was just great - at the time I found it way better than most of the beers I drink over here, while all the other local brews were somewhat dissapointing.

Now, I doubt you can get this beer anywhere outside of Patagonia, but I remember really enjoying that 1 pint of it that I had.

* This "Irish Pub" thing seemed to be really popular down there - although we did not run across ONE in Chile. This place was way different than what you might imagine as an "Irish Pub". Ushuaia is pretty touristy - as touristy as such a remote place can be - this "Irish Pub" thing we came across in the touristy part of town - so it was not *really* and Irish Pub per se, but was marketed as one, if that makes any sense to you ;)

I have a few good friends that do it, and they're pretty good at it. Actually one of the kegs at my wedding was a tasty "homebrew."

Favorite-of-the-moment: Lindemans Kriek, a black cherry lambic that I had at the beer festival a couple weeks ago. But I've yet to find it in a liquor store and see if it's really as good as I remember it being (I tried a lot of beers that day).

It's hard to pick a favorite beer. I guess if you go by what I buy most often, it'd be a toss-up between
- Longboat double chocolate porter (Phillips Brewing, Victoria),
- Mill St coffee porter (Mill St Brewing, Toronto),
- Hermann's dark lager (Vancouver Island Brewing, Victoria), and
- Pipers pale ale (also VIB)

Honourable mentions to Mill St's Tankhouse Ale, Whistler Brewing's hefeweizen, and Unibroue's Ephemere.
