Also, try using this Flagdecal

It should work universally, as long as you use these settings:

Other than that, good work! Keep up the effort!

Thanx, I fixed that bug and placed your Decal file (but I don't have a time to try it now, I'm going to the theatre but I think that I know what's the catch - abot checking whether to or not to save alpha channel in DDS converter, right?) and added Franch short version ;) of Yugoslavia name (unfortunatelly I didn't know anything else to change ;)) and aploaded it again... (links above are changed :))

I'm glad that you like it! :)

Alpha channel needs to be painted pitch black, then it works. But since most utils ignore loading pitch black alpha channels I missed it until I read about it in Jecrells' Civ modding tutorial thread.

I tried your flag and there's no use - I still see clear white flag (insted of star and stripes) like with every other flagdecal file with black alpha channel...

I thought you maybe found out some tweak in DDS converter how to save differently but no... Unfortunatelly yet there will be a need for FlagPatch and FlagUnPatch (important for everybody - with this new version 1.04 if you don't see the flag run FlagUnPatch since FlagPatch will copy another Flagdecal file with black alpha channel and FlagUnpatch copies Flagdecal with white alpha channel which works on my computer)

I just dont get it then, must be very graphic card specific. The trick solved the issue for my graphic card. Before that I used to see every multi-color flag as blank white.

Did you edit the file? Even if the flagdecal is flawed, with the whiteflag attribute set to one, you should at least see a black flag, not a white one.

edit: what are your graphic settings? i'm grabbing at straws, but this might be it.
I'm running at 1024x768, anti-aliasing 4, and every other setting on high.

I tried the mod last night, and the flag worked for me as Srđan made it (the last two versions didn't?)

Anyway, Srđane, I was posting something on Serbia's mod, just a suggestion about mp3 files used. Very small touch, but you could be interested. I wrote over there:

One other thing: I am not at home over the weekend, but once I get back, I may do some work on two mp3 files of "Marš na Drinu" if Velja decides to go with them. What I mean is this: Srđan's "Yugoslavia" mod plays the tune "Jugoslavijo" when you zoom in on a city. One thing I would change about it is that I would "cut" or "skip" the "introduction" of the song, i.e. the first several accords until the recogniseable tune begins. This is something I used to do when I was putting our rock melodies as mobile tone rings - they all had 4-5-6 seconds starting with just drums beat that had little or nothing to do with a song tune, and they annoyed me. So I cut them out of the begginning and started the mp3 file at the start of the recogniseable melody.

Would you think that cutting the begginning of "Marš na Drinu" would be good or not? It does have that unique and recognizeable "Dam-dara-rara-dam Dam-dara-rara-dam" intro, but would you really want to hear it every time you zoom in to a city, or would you prefer a start of tune to be the old recogniseable melody?

Yap, I changed save settings in DDS converter in all possible combinations but no use... With black alpha channel there is no chance for me to see any flag, not just this Yugoslav but also any other flag in any other mod. If I want to play them I have to edit the flag and to convert alpha channel to white, and I think that I'm not the only one...

I even made alpha channel half white and half black and I did see only the white half coloured and the black part was white...

Still a mistery... :)

I'm also running at 1024x768, not sure about anti-aliasing and everything else is on low 'cause I've got "border" graphic card (GeForce 2)...

Anyway you can't force anybody to play in graphic settings you like ;) therefore I'll have to keep this FlagPatch and FlagUnPatch thing so that everybody could play with star and stripes... :)

The flag worked because it's with black alpha channel... ;)

About the introduction – the introduction for "Od Vardara pa do Triglava" (not "Jugoslavijo" like you said ;)) song for me is apsolutely fabulous and on the other hand keeps the game out of boredome (if you have only recognizable tune it will soon get you bored) therefore I'll keep the whole song! :)

And there's the think which was mentioned on Serbia topic – if you scroll from city to city the music don't stops and starts over – it just lowers loudness and continues until the end (or until you unzoom)

To hear "diplo" music, I would actually have to play as a different nation, against the modded civ, and then talk to them, right?

Yes, and no. You hear diplo music when you negotiate(and you can not negotiate with yourself, unless youre playing a Good Tito vs. Evil Tito parallel universe custom game) and you hear diplo music when you zoom in on your cities(just zoom in on any city and it'll be playing your diplo music. it plays your diplo music constantly in repeat mode, but you dont hear it unles you zoom in close on the city)

Ah, right. I thought that there are two different tunes: one for when you zoom in to a city, and one for diplomacy, but they are same in fact. Cheers.

There are two tones for diplomacy:

1. intro, it plays when you start negotiations

2. main theme, is starts after intro finishes and goes into replay until negotiations end.

when you zoom in on a city you hear the main theme(sound no.2) playing over and over again.

capisci?

What about flagdecals made by Firaxis, the ones for the American Revolution mod? Do you see the Betsy Ross?

edit: check out this clip:

Televizijo

Nope...

I just tried that Scenario and only white flags appear... I changed their alpha channel to white and whoop! :) There they are...

I tried to check that clip but my system is not able to reproduce .mov files... What software do I need for it? :)

It must be graphic card specific. I get white flags if the alpha channel is white. ATI, NVidia, or old cards, new cards... who knows...

Just download quicktime.

Quicktime standalone download

And another pearl. This one featuring 'dear leader': Star Drek - Episode 19 - 'Trieste'
