YuiNES1 - 2000B.C.

There is a correct sized map already posted in this thread (by someone else) why not edit that one?

Yep that would be the easiest thing to do. Start from the map I posted a while ago and make adjustments from there. As long as Yui does not touch anything but colours and the borders of nations in paint. And has nothing ticked on Imageshack it should be good.

Indeed.. why this is proving such a hurdle is perplexing!

I sent my orders to you Yui!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :( I risked death to sent it! Sending again... risking death again.... succedeing

I apologize to Darth and everyone else for the unacceptable delay. I was at a major lacrosse tournament with no Internet. Expect update Tue-Wed

Oi...I really would like to see an update in this NES, I like it. It has been nearly a month (24 days) since the last update. Granted, problems with stats and the map have occurred, but I think enough time has been alloted that they should be resolved. So, with that in mind...lets see an update and prevent this NES from dieing.

Did a lot tonight everybody, just have Greece, and Asia left.

Well, since I suppose you never are going to get the map together before the update..

ORDERS: spend all my economy on troops and crash down the river south eastwards and destory the nation in our way to the sea. Enslave all who we conqur and sell them to the highest bidder.

In Context out of Character: Minoia was destroyed in the 1600-1400 B.C. by a series of deadly events and an invasion: Not greedy, just so you know.

YuiNES1-Update 3 1700 B.C.- When push comes to shove….

The Americas

The Californian Civilization continues to prosper on the west coast of the new world, reeling in massive profits from it’s trading business. Their Lord Beava’Wolpa IV has declared a state based on ideals of free living and money. Prostitution has hit new highs in this pleasure oriented part of the world, much to the outcry of some more warlike conservative northern tribes, though they were quickly quieted by the go-go dancer clan.

The Olmecs and the Cubans are continuing their domination of the Caribbean Sea, destroying the last Caribe tribesmen and planting new colonies seemingly everywhere they go. Tarv’Ka, the capital of Cuba is continuing to flourish greatly and is becoming THE center of trade in the Mediterranean Sea. The Cubans have begun new programs to make it the trading center of the Caribbean, a very solid plan considering it’s strong central position. Severely new colonies have taken root in modern day Hispaniola and Louisiana, yet their degree of autonomy is yet to be determined…
Their has been a major trade hike in the eastern half of Cuba, upon the discovery of “Cassava Bread” a delicious and filling meal made from a green native shrub. A long and tapered root shrub, perhaps if the monarchy harnesses this great asset they may yield an even greater trading stronghold. The Cubans have also begun producing a new crop “tobacco”, while it is still a minority crop used by a few locals, it’s usage may spread…
Another recent Cuban invention is the hammock…

And finally the Incan Civilization, based in the Andes, continues to flourish in South America. It facilitates great building projects, due to the fact that a great deal of it’s upper class is greatly paranoid of losing their absolute power, and have already begun several massive expensive jungle enclosed building projects.

The Mediterranean
The Iberics continue to establish a strong civilization based in the large peninsula. They have developed a deadly new kind of knife, the “falcata”. Their new ruler, the so called Lady of Baza, preaches a message of peace and cultural resurrection, yet a willingness to defend themselves if the need arises. Her figurehead husband, Lord Elx, is a much more warlike man, but is likely unable to do anything of meaning.
North of them, a new civilization, the Cisalpine has evolved to counter the colonizing threat posed by the colonialist Tune’s and Phoenicians. In light of a recent agreement to “civilize” the lesser known reaches of the world and bring them under their extremely wealthy influence. Obviously, some of the natives fail to see the benefits of this plan.
The Tunite Civilization has also sought to colonize some new Iberic territories, more regions in the southern coast of Gaul, farther North into Italy, into Sardinia, and finally to exert a massive colonial presence into Tunisian North Africa ( Justo, you get your Slave IC this turn). Every endeavor but the Gallic and Italian ones have met with, for now at least a great deal of success. During the early part of the century, the Tunite’s attempted expansion into Italy. This has been sharply resisted by the organizing Latin Clans. The wise King Perpold ultimately saw the pointlessness of such efforts, and now in an unprecedented massive effort, the Phoenician and the Tune fleet combined to exert their joint massive efforts over the great sea. While a few minor skirmishes occurred between the, for now, cooperating major powers, these were mostly due to Babel like situations.

But in an event that sent repercussions around the known world, the beloved King Perpold died, heirless in a tragic case of scurvy on the high seas. This led to a military coup in the once stable kingdom of Tune with “Warlord Kurlu” and his men seizing power after a costly civil war. By the time the colonial usurper has been deposed in favor of the righteous Council of Tune by returning colonial legions, the damage had been done, both by the formation of the Cisalpines, loss of men, and economic stagnation. Yet now the Council of Tune has reformed itself to prevent any such disastrous civil war from occurring again.
The new council of Tune comprises of the 50 richest men (and women?) in the Tunnite Empire, and their head vassal, or the king of Tunisia. They have representative elections once every five years to determine the new supremo, or leader. This new system has been mostly effective, yet unfortunately, as like most Republics, are subject to the occasional lame duck monarchs. A montage of both colonial defeats and successes as well as the rebirth of Mediterranean trade have highlighted the reign of the new supremo’s.
In a very fortunate turn of events for Tune, a large group of wealthy traders who left the island during the civil war and left to found a colony on Illlyria later returned and reconciled with the Council and the Supremo’s, and rejoined the union. This has brought a knowledge of a great deal of native people’s into their realm.

The Tunisians, while filing minor objections to the rather oppressive terms for the en masse shipment of slaves, as well as the military size limits, acquiesced acknowledging they had no other reasonable option. The current reign has been highlighted by nothing more and nothing less than minor African expansion and the raiding antics of bellicose Berber tribesmen. .They have been forced every few decades to pay massive tributes of hundreds of slaves to the might Tune’s and seek to find a way around selling their own countrymen…

The Phoenicians have established several large colonies alongside the Tunnic ones, under the reign of the great king Polymathas. The arts of religion and science have had a flowering under the liberal Phoenicians. Also, their triremes have consistently overshadowed, piratical and otherwise, any other naval craft on the high seas.
Additional, the Phoenicians have established a set of colonies on Africa’s west coast, mostly led by conservatives to escape the so called Phoenician “Moral Lawlessness” of their homeland.

In European news, the Iberic’s have turned to a new god “Talish” to protect themselves from the seemingly unstoppable assault of the oncoming Tune colonizers. A grand new temple has been commissioned in his name in their capital city.

Also, the Germanics have ceased expansion and production, due to what many believe to be inner turmoil among their lose warlord system…

In Greece the growth of Thebes as a vital city in the Corinthian Trading System has elevated it to become one of the most important, richest, and cultured cities in the entire Eastern Mediterranean Sea. The Philosopher John Lockopolis has fermented some very important ideas for the development of Greek society. As well, the extremely powerful Athenian Yuslanto family, to parallel their southern neighbors the Minoans have also begun some exploration expeditions into western Asia Minor, which have been, insofar quite successful. And finally, in order to counter the military might of the Mycenaean war machine, the Corinthians have developed a new way of fighting, in the hoplitic fashion and a new great monument the so called “Oracle of Olympic Mountain” to give them power in war.

The Mycenae and Minoans have continued the power surge apparent in all Greek cities, especially in their capitals, with continued Northward and Eastern expansion. The Minoans are also looking to become a major trading partner of the new bi-polar Phoenicia-Tune trading world.

Spotlight/War
In what has long been expected to be a massive Middle Eastern showdown, finally the Albons have made the first move. Led by general Hishput they have surged down the great rivers in overwhelming force, dealing seemingly fatal blows to the shattered Assyrian empire, it’s powerful warlords still seemingly unable to rally together and bring their advantages to shove. But finally, with the Assyrian Empire on it’s last legs, a powerful warlord, Butchezek rallied the remaining men of the Assyrian Armies and presented an organized defense to the Albons.

Yet the damage has been done. Most of their major cities have been taken, and their former southern territories but now consist of little more than a starving sliver of land supplied by boat with a supply of food and wood. Most know realize, on both sides, that nothing more than a coherent Albonian offense will destroy the Assyrians once and for all.

Finally we turn to Asia….

In the Japanese Empire, a formerly disunified and patchwork coalition of warlords has been seized control of by a powerful Emperor named Manomi Tanakahashi. He has appointed a series of shoguns, related and otherwise to large military and economic positions of power in the Empire. They have sought to exploit Japan’s mineral resources to reinvigorate and power their trading force.
Massive deposits of tin have been found in Japan!

As well, shogun Masaru Tanakahashi has led a massive home army of 600 men to take the entirety of the main Japanese island. They have found very little resistance from the native people, yet more so from their own men and stretched lines of supply. They managed to take the majority of the main island and also came into a rather forced inheritance of a large portion of Kyushu(the north island?).

In addition a massive Japanese invasion of the Asian mainland has been launched and has been quite successful taking a large coastal portion. As well, they have begun a blockade of the opposing Korean Empire. Yet if Japan continues to seek to overstretch it’s young empire, their may be grave consequences…

And lastly in the dawning kingdom of Taiwan a series of developments has begun. Upon the reigning kings deathbed, he expressed his wishes that a Great Library to honor all knowledge and love of the gods be created. Under his son his wish has begun to be granted, with progress well into. Also, in a very unfortunate confrontation, during the Japanese blockade of Korea, the Taiwanese believed this was to be war, and sent their fleet to act for their Korean allies. By the time anything could be straightened out between the Japanese and the Taiwanese, the damage had been done, and the Japanese now vigorously seek reparations…

NPC Diplomacy

From: The Olmecs

What says Cuba, in return for our generous protection all these years, begun paying us our…dues?

From: The Etruscans
To : Tune

Hail might Tune! But, unfortunately, we need to ask a slight… Favor, of your mightiness. Might you back off of your Gallic colonies, and encourage your Phoenician allies to do the same? If not… The results would be unpleasant.

From: Phoenica
To: Albon

Hail! Desist in your fell aggression against the righteous kingdom of Assyria, barbarians!

From: Korea
To: Taiwan

Stay your blade ally, and we may forever destroy the Japanese menace.

A word from the moderator…

Everyone, apologies this didn’t come out when it should have. I simply used some very poor time management skills, and that is my fault. Thank you from everyone who told me this was a good NES that they wanted to continue, and for Abbadon for help my rather embarrassing map impairment … Very good orders this turn from most of you, you are stepping up your game! Flavius no orders this turn and, sadly, I have to kick you. Also, please everyone I am rewarding any stories, the better they are the better the reward. As well, no UUs? They make these games so much more fun everybody…

Rewards!

Best Orders- Justo, with Darth Nader a close runner up.
Luckiest Break- Whoever decided to not make a central European civilization… Poor Scythians.
Unluckiest Break- Possibly the Cuban Tribes… Some of my Random Number generating fell through for them…

World Map (cross your fingers...If it doesn't work, will edit tomorrow)

Spoiler :

OOC: Why isn't the Great Library complete yet? I spent the E.P required this turn.

From Taiwan
To Japan

If I divert my energies to war, then you risk Korea raising a fleet to break the blockade. I am an unnecessary nusiance to you as an enemy. I propose a white peace.

OOC: Great update. The map is a little funky lol but it is useable.

To: Phoenicia
From: Tune

The Etruscans want both of our nations to withdraw our colonies in the Gallic region. They have threatened both of our nations with military action if this does not occur.

The Council of Tune believes these threats are empty however we would like to know how Phoenicia would feel about a possible pre-emptive strike against Etrusca.

Cutting them off from trade will likely force them rethink their aggressive moves.

We also would like to offer our congradulations to the success of both of our nations over the last century. Our co-operation has been greatly beneficial to the both of us.

To: Etrusca
From: Tune

While we want friendship between our nations we cannot allow the Etruscans to dictate orders to us.

As such if you continue your current aggression towards our nation a state of war will exist between us and all trade will cease between our ports.

We have informed the Phoenicians of Etruscan wishes and are awaiting their response.

To: Tunis
From: Tune

The Council of Tune would like to thank Tunis for it's payment of slaves on time. The Council is currently reviewing lowering or possibly removing this payment so as to hopefully increase Tunean-Tunisian relations.

We also wish to offer our assistance against the Berbers that have been raiding along your borders. An attack on Tunis is an attack on Tune.

OOC: The Great Library needs one more turn. And oh yeah, also the white lines are trade routes that have formed

Indeed. This insolent Etruscans must be forced out of their insolent demands. While at the same time, how opposed would you be to some slight... Aid for me in the Eastern Mediterranean against the tyrannical Albons.

From: Etrusca
To : Tune

I hardly can imagine why this show of force is necessary. We simply requested a withdraw of your Gallic colonies. Is this impossible?

From: Tunis
To: Tune

Thank you, O mother kingdom. Indeed, assistance against the berbers would be magnificent.

From Taiwan
To Japan

If I divert my energies to war, then you risk Korea raising a fleet to break the blockade. I am an unnecessary nusiance to you as an enemy. I propose a white peace.

White peace...we started no war and took no territory. We used our navy in a defensive matter to prevent our ships, both civilian and military, from being attacked by Koreans who have openly shown their dislike for the Japanese people. You on the other hand, aid the Koreans in sinking our ships and threaten us with war. Why should a peace be made, IF WE ARE NOT FIGHTING A WAR!?

Japan demands the payment of 2 EP as reparations for your actions against the Japanese people.

If these terms are not met, I am afraid we will take our reparations from Taiwan by force. We can fight a war, and we will if need be.

To Yui: You still need to change my stats to show my triremes. Also, you didn't follow my orders. First off, my army did more than move north (Hokkaido is the northern island), but moved south. Actually, they were to take Honshu completely first. With how close the two are, and the forces I provided, proper supply routes should have been very well effective. Second, I never said my ruling family was to change, only shoguns were to be ushered in. Just because they have different names doesn't mean they are not related by blood.

In addition, the map is very much blurry and poorly made (no offense). May I suggest you get a more experienced map make to make them for you. Also, what are those white lines everywhere? Also, there is a large dark blotchy thing off of Japan...

Oh yeah everyone, and orders are due Late Monday/Early Tuesday

To: Phoenicia
From: Tune

Tune is more than willing to assist our Phoenician friends against the Albons. Military commitments against the Berbers, Barbarians and possibly the Etruscans will limit the number of soldiers we can commit to assist you but you can guarantee that Tunean arms and supplies will be sent to help keep Phoenician forces fighting at their best.

We believe that we can send roughly 200 Infantry to aid you in this campaign.

To: Etrusca
From: Tune

You threatened Tune with military action if we would not withdraw from these regions.

If I may quote your leaders words "Might you back off of your Gallic colonies, and encourage your Phoenician allies to do the same? If not… The results would be unpleasant." the council of tune takes this as a threat.

We do not wish for war with your nation however if you continue to push for our withdrawal from this region we will have to respond with military action.

From Taiwan
To Japan

My government's offical posistion continues to be that given your actions against Korea, my actions were justified and consequently your extortions are not. However, due to the request not to continue from the Korean people, I will pay the demanded reparations.

@Darth- Darth thanks you for the tips, did you simply upgrade your ships to triremes? I will check. As well, I am sorry but I can't let you simply unify all of Japan,a tenous and long historical task, amidst a blockade and myraid foreign squabbles. Your engagement with Taiwan also hobbled your expansion into the Southern Island, and the fact most of your forces were devoted to mainland expansion.
