Zorn1: The great fall

The second try gave me this:

I doubt that it could get much better, regardless how often I restart, so let`s take this one.
I wish I`d get such starts when I play solo...

On the first turn moskow is founded on the spot. Worker moves on to onnect the furs, the goody hut contains boatbuilding.
Research is started on cultivation.
The rest of my turnset is uneventful, with the exeption that we get pottery from a hut.
Very nice terrain, and so far no neighbours.

We have beautiful starting position, but are probably right in the middle of our continent. Might give us more frontiers than we have fingers later.

Moscow should be turned into a settler factory, there's also a couple of spots to the east to found more settler factories. (On top of a hill, by a river, with a floodplain camel, a cow, and a stack of mountains for shields. :drool: )
Not sure why all 3 rangers went east, we need to send one west as well.

With the help of the victory-screen I managed to play the right amount of turns (or so I hope). Here it goes.

We get naval warefare from a hut, the other one has maps.
We meet the vikings. Could get scrape mining from them, but it`s quite expensive now. I will wait untill we`ve met some other civs that know it.

I established embassies at everyone we know.
Most capitals are quite pathetic. One is in the tundra, one in the jungle, the next in the mountains.
Spain and China seem quite decent.

Looks quite good so far.
We can block the isthmus in the north with 3 units. One additional ship on our coast will keep the AIs from the north (Poly, China and Celts so far) out of "our" part of the continent. Then we can peacefully grab a lot of land, with only spain being a real contender.

It says in the first post this is meant to be part training game, so I've got a comment on Kiev's placement. Grassland can't be mined, oases are minimum 6 food each, and mountains are the best tiles for shields in the game. Kiev's location is incredibly high in food, even with the 5 deserts, and very poor in shields. If it was one tile north, it would still be rich enough in food to hit size 14 easily, and 20 when we hit sewer systems, but also be shield rich too, and become a powerhouse city.

Good turns, looks like we're out-expanding the AI.
 
I played 13 turns, as we revolted near the end of my set, and there's no point handing it over in anarchy with nothing to do. My bad if that was wrong. CVH should probably play 12 to even out the turncount. Fairly uneventful, we traded for Mysticism & Mythology, also got paid about 500 gold for old techs, and bought 2 workers with old techs as well. Must be nap time, I forgot to write down the new city's name. Anyway, it was founded on the hill by the floodplain camel/cow/mountains I circled a few posts above. We have 5 cities, the celts have 5 cities, nobody else has more than 3 yet. We still have a dynasticism monopoly, research is set to philosophy at the moment, but with the lead we have, I think we should attempt to get Democracy as our free tech, and should switch research to Demo's other prerequisite, then do philosophy. Dynasticism also gave us an SGL, I haven't used it yet, we need to decide what to use it on. I would go with stonehenge, we're currently expanding ASAP, stonehenge will let us go close to doubling that expansion speed. No other available wonder can help as much, and there aren't any other AA wonders coming up as good either, unless we find silks somewhere and hook them up.

That's my 2c on the research path. And SGL on stonehenge.
 
sorry, i tried to get the 1.04 and then clicked RAR but it doesnt work. :cry: ill try the save again but if it doesnt work take me off the roster.
